oc play boating

just buy a copy of "thrill of the paddle" the ideas for rodeo boating you will get from this book will keep you busy for the rest of your life. Ya there are less moves you can do in an open canoe than a kayak or c1 but you can still refine these moves to a level of mastery. Go for no paddle flat spi...

painters

painters are useful but also a big safety liability. I use 1 painter on my boat, in the bow. I use it primarily to tie my boat to shore when scouting on creeks, when the banks are to impractical to climb out onto. put i still wear a cowtail on my rescue vest

onside high brace for offside flip

try working on this skill in flat water. swamp your boat and practice holding the boat so your offside gunwhale is under water. catch every eddy, surf every wave

Tom is a masterful canoeist. I try to emulate his style. If you're in a long boat start paddling in circles like Tom. paddling will become even more fun.

the Zoom

I am very very very interested in purchasing a Zoom and I think we should do business. Lets get in touch so we can talk about the boat. I'm in Connecticut and I should have no problem making it to your neck of the woods.

:P all the best
