This old Outrage
So, nobody bought my old outrage. I have decided to just keep paddling the old girl, so I pulled all the outfitting out and plan to repair her. There is a good crack right in front of where the saddle was and where the anchor point for the straps was. It has some rotten foam inside, so I was plannin...

Re: near death Mad River Outrage
It really isn't THAT bad, but I do not want to misrepresent it. If someone wanted to get in some glassing or patching practice, it could be a solid boat again. I am just clearing things out as we are going to be buying a house.

near death Mad River Outrage
Well, my first oc1 is very near death. She has more soft rx than solid. She does still float, the saddle, straps, thwarts, end caps, lacing and gunwales are still good to go. In other words, it is a good parts boat with a trip or 2 left in her.

Re: Boat of the Week - Dagger Cascade
I have one, but I just have not fallen inove with it. I prefer an open boat. I actually have it listed in the classifieds.

I goofed around in one for a bit one day. I am 215 and it looked like that was nearing top end. Very cool little boat and I want one!

Re: Advice on canoes please!
1 absolute is that you need comfortable life vests to be safe. A guy died near me not long ago when he had a heart issue that caused him to fall out of a kayak. Even though his wife was nearby, he drowned in shallow water. Never paddle without a vest. Doing so is stupid. It sounds to me like you wou...

Re: Paddle Grip
I put electrical tape wraps 3 inches apart on the shaft. It has worked well for a month. I used to be annoyed by my hand slipping on the shaft, but this has solved the issue for me.
