Re: Esquif Zephyr for Big Guy?
I think everything has been said about the durability, the only thing I'd add is if you wear shorts during the summer you may find your lower legs itching from contact with the hull (well the scratches I assume). I'm 240 or there abouts and the Z floats me fine, better than my Ocoee thats for sure. ...

Re: Relief Zippers in December
Its only a matter of time till I forget to fully close the ankle to ankle zip on my peak creek suit, hopefully it'll just be the one damp foot rather than a proper soaking, Brrrrrrr

Re: Dry Top and Pants vs. Dry Suit
If it doesn't work, I'll spend the money on getting my old non breathable dry suit from my dinghy racing days resealed. That'd be my choice, I put off buying a drysuit for years, but last winter was a pleasure unlike all that went before, now being in a canoe rather than a kayak makes it even more ...

Re: Drakkar Wheelboy
Thanks Rick, I've paddled the 4-twenty as a kaak and I know the cockpits pretty big, thought that being a bit wider the wheelboy would have a wider cockpit, maybe not.

Re: Drakkar Wheelboy
Hi all, thought I'd bump this thread rather than start a new one. I have my eye on a wheelboy and a factory converted Pyranha 4-20, the 4-20 is very local so I can at least see if I can squeeze into it, the Wheelboy less so. The question being, at 105kg (and slowly decreasing) will the wheelboy be, ...

Re: Peak uk dry suit
Had the Peak creek suit for a few weeks now and its been great, nice not to have that big zip across my shoulders under the pfd. Not really noticed the zip in the boat, canoe or kayak, and no leaks, so yes it does work, how long it lasts is the question but I have not heard of any failures this side...

Re: straps vs bulkhead
There is no perfect fit with the bulkhead - the best you can do is find the comprimise fit somwhere between shorts and drysuit with fleece liner, and I'm never completely satisfied with this comprimise. I also like to loosen outfitting for comfort accross flats. This is my problem with the bulkhead...

Re: How Come once you get a canoe...
Maybe because the perfect boat does not exist? Whatever boat you buy, there will be something that you'd like a little different, little more length for speed, more flair at the bow/more depth for a drier time, maybe a harder edge for the eddies, something a bit easier to roll and on and on it goes....

As a thick-legged guy, I hate other people's bulkheads. Prevented me from a decent demo of Preludes or L'Edges. Pat. The long legged will be fine, but my big thighs are a nightmare with the bulkhead in my prelude (and the clubs fly), I'm still fiddling with the blasted thing after a month (numb fee...
