Dooley....I'll try to get some pics posted. We used 3 cameras and the footage is sweet. It's looking like I'm out for the season due to 3 herniated discs (ouch). I'm looking to put together some more OC Creeking footage, so PLEASE anyone interested in running some CO Creeks this spring let me know. ...

I shot footage of Eli Helbert and Phil Footi dropping this big water MT classic (25-30'). What an honor it was to paddle with these two.

The only other run I did was a class II section of the Feather, but we did it in flat water boats with a friend from Feather River College. I would love to get back there and run some more stuff. Think I'm going to save my money this year so I can make it to OC champs on the Ocoee in Aug. I've trave...

Middle Fork of the American..... Tunnel Chute. From the dam down is a class III,IV,V+ day run. There's a portage over the falls. You can take out on a 4x4 road. I know the mid of American is S. of I-80. Like I said, I preferred N or I-80 away from the prisons and seemed like fewer meth tweakers and ...

Closing Time
Make sure you find out what time the faucet gets turned off. My first attempt of the S. Fork I started unloading boats, then realized the water had been shut off. Not used to that. Fun, mellow, crowded stretch. Raft guides seem to aim for boaters. People thought we were crazy for wanting to camp on ...

Go 14 Year Olds......Yeah!
I paddle a Spanish Fly and Phantom. Can roll the Phantom 90% of the time and the Fly about 50%. I find the Skeeter/Fly/etc. much more difficult to roll. Taught myself how to roll 2 years ago and it's a bit funky. I'd suggest learning from someone that knows how to teach it right and use a non "X-Boa...

Alan...a little harsh? I'm the first to admit that I suck at running gates. Had I not had to work up until the night before the Missoula race, I would have loved to have come and run the course before race day. Instead, I came to be amongst friends and I competed to show support for the race and the...

Hope it's tough H2O
I had brought this topic up a couple years ago when the Nationals was moved to MT on a class II section. Although a great event with some tough gates, it was class II. I'm of the opinion that Open Boat WHITEWATER National Championships. Should take place on a tough section of river. The argument is ...

As soon as you get a set date, please post. It's been 12 years since I've done any SE paddling and I can't think of a better reason to head out.

New School OC-1s
The only freestyle specific OC that I've paddled is the Spanish Fly. I ordered one without ever getting in and trying one out. This boat allowed me to start paddling class V without being concerned too much about cracking my hull when I boof. Ahhhh to boof what an added joy on the river. Everyone th...
