Sad news. Been following the account on MountainBuzz. Not sure if a cause of death was ever given. He was paddling alone in a kayak on the Blue River downstream from Dillon Reservoir if I understand the location correctly. I think some rafters found him in the river. River had been running very high...

Got this reply from someone with the screen name of Old Bill on paddling.net: "Mohawk Built the Jensen WW in 78 although they may have been making the WW2 by then because I saw Wenonah WW2's at that race on the Yough. They built the WW,WW2 and WW3 and the C1WW. The WW was a marathon hull with higher...

It's the yellow boat on the left. Taken in Stillwater Canyon on the Green River in Utah.
Not the best shot but better than a picture of it stored in the garage.

OC2 boat history question
I own a Mohawk Jensen WWIII . Bought it about 25 yrs ago for $50 and it is one of my favorite boats. It's great for class II river tripping. The boat was raced in the 1978 Downriver Championships on the Yough. I've never seen another Mohawk Jensen whitewater racing canoe and I'm wondering of anyone ...

Most of those C-1 moves seem to involve engaging the edge in the stern of the boat and not the bow. Isn't that much more difficult to accomplish in an OC unless the boat is designed with edges in the stern and rounded chines in the front? What are the differences between engaging a stern edge as opp...

Wouldn't it be roughly analogous to say that an outside lean with an edgy boat is like using a pry to enter or leave an eddy instead of a draw/crossdraw or duffek/crossduffek? Certainly in a tandem boat, if the bow paddler uses a pry instead of a crossdraw, the turn will be a lot more abrupt (which ...

Photos from the 2011 Open Canoe Slalom Nationals
I posted these links in the other thread on the nationals, but they were buried pretty deep there so I thought I'd put them in a separate thread. 3 albums on Facebook. Open to everyone so you shouldn't have to be my friend on Facebook to see them: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=507714128#!/...
