Re: Curved blade versus flat blade
Just a thought re: the high kneel flatties, it might be that on flatwater the turbulence introduced by the blade itself is lower with a flat/straight blade while a curved blade does indeed put the water in motion, so the catch could be better with the flat blade. But unless anyone does actually do ...

Duct tape is great for all sorts of things medically, esp. blisters.

Re: paddlers with glasses?
I used to always wear glasses, and was practically blind without them (got corrective surgery in May, best thing ever). Straps with floaty things on the back, and they never came off (trust me, I swam a lot). As previously mentioned, air flow helps with the fogging. I occasionally had problems with ...

Re: Lasik/PRK & Whitewater
I had lasik done last May, and haven't regretted it once. I was practically blind without my glasses (literally) and now have 20/30 vision in one eye, and 20/35 in the other. It has been the best thing I had done for myself in a long time, and took like 15 minutes. I would recommend having it done s...

Re: C-Boaters with nose plugs?
This is one of the most incredibly interesting threads ever on CBoats! Yeah, yeah... I know it isn't a glamorous topic, and it's getting out of hand. I apologize for adding to the fire. I started not to post. It's just that I'm having some troubles I didn't use to have- trying to get a little info....

Re: C-Boaters with nose plugs?
This is a timely topic for me considering my current condition. I've begun to view nose plugs as a necessary piece of equipment rather than focusing on the fact that they are rather goofy looking- and anything that prevents me from losing paddling time is, to me, necessary. That being said, I suppo...

Re: dry pants
If you are going to get dry pants, get the ones with socks. I have a pair with the ankle gaskets, and absolutely hate them.
I echo the others that a drysuit is worth the money if you paddle year-round.

Merry xmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa...river gods...whatever you believe in (or even if its nothing) enjoy the holiday, and here's even more paddling in 2012! It's been a great year, and I hope to build on it for the next.

Re: float bag length, pt II.
The Rival is a 12' 2" long boat. If you want the maximum amount of flotation, you can use 60" long bags. The length that manufacturers list for bags is the maximum length uninflated. When inflated, 60" bags shorten in length to about 55", give or take an inch. I usually figure on keeping about 36" ...

float bag length, pt II.
Hi,
I'm outfitting a dagger rival, and would like to know the length needed for the float bags. The outfitting is a bulkhead style. Thanks for your help.
