The XL15 will be the better whitewater boat. The Appalachian or Rogue will be better all round boats. If you think you'd use the boat on flat water or river tripping, the new trail they're putting in the the French Broad for example, the Appalachian or Roque would be better choices. Our old canoes, ...

If your long term goal is getting your kid boating, I think the IK is your best bet. You'll be able to immediately run rivers like the Tuck and Nantahala with a reasonable expection that you'll remain upright and not scare your kid out of boating. If he gets the hang of it, maybe he could bring a bu...

Re: Lipo bilge pump batteries
I'm really just trying to get a general idea of what everyone is using and a ball park on how long a charge last. My experience with lipo batteries comes from playing with RC cars. Here's the battery I was looking at, but it looks like it may be over kill based on what you guys are using. http://www...

Need suggestions for C1 for a kid
Looking for suggestions on a good older boat to convert to a C1. My 11 y/o son has decided he wants to try paddling a C1 or canoe. I'd rather not sink too much money into this to start, since he may decide it's too much work and can go back to his kayak. Looks like there are plently of possibilities...
