if the hull looks okay (no leaks- i don't care about scratches, i'd put enough on there myself) and i can get it to near asheville, you've got yourself a deal.

Re: Prijon HURRICANE
Hull only -- no K or C outfitting. Scratched, but appears to float. This is an old-school design -- 10' in length, but with surprising rocker. Looks FAST. Going cheepcheepcheep. Any interest? Otherwise, I'm gonna cut it up for plastic. Located in Pacific North-West. Rick maybe. how much? and pics? ...

Re: Dagger Impulse OC1: outfitted, red, wood gunwales
Wish I could get it to Virginia  It's certainly possible, especially if you are patient. How far south do you come to paddle? The French Broad or Nantahala? Take a look at the "Armada" thread - there may be folks from down this way travelling up for that. if the seller could get it to ashevill...

Re: What do you expect...
I ve got a beef with gaia's "lifetime guarantee"... I bought a pair and one got a couple of holes within a couple months of use . Don't ask me know, I was careful. I called the company and was informed that the warrantee only covers leaks from delimitation but not punctures. Truthfully, this is fai...

*My dad aquired it when he was running the training for the Timber Trades Federation, along with oodles of other rare and unusual samples; as wood goes, it's very cool though perhaps not striking as the purpleheart puzzle. [/timber geekery] well hey, i started it. :D i know what you mean- i love pu...

Re: New Boat...
how heavy are you? in general, i'd recommend the blackfly option- great boat. surfs pretty well too. or a l'edge if you are looking for something more stable for a larger person. as to the zoom, there's a reason we call it the wooZ. you will spend a lot of time upside down. the zephyr is light, but ...

lignum vitae can be brittle if you don't get the real stuff (which is endangered). i made a bowl out of it about a month ago that cracked when i dropped it about 6 inches. it's also heavy, if you didn't know. i'd just go with the rope.

i've had the same problem with the mohawk bags delaming, and one has a slow leak, but the leak may be user error. i do like the bags tho.

Re: Wanted - Open Canoe Playboat
Jack, my 2 cents: For a smaller paddler, it may be easier to find a good kayak to convert to a c1, than it is to find a used OC1 that will work. For most of us, though, the choice between C1 and OC1 is more a choice of style. I just wanted to clear up the terminology in your original post. We usual...

Re: What next?
How about a smaller, agile, much lighter, still forgiving canoe designed specifically with the small female paddler in mind? For those of us that love the l'edge..... but feel lost inside of it. anybody want to suggest an Ion? note she said MUCH lighter... maybe a royalex ion or option... maybe tha...

Re: Pics of Jackson c-1 outftting cooool
it looks like a good set up for playing, and it wouldn't be to hard to modify the thigh straps to quick release and then it'd be good for creeking to.
