Re: Stern "squirting" in a Cascade C1?
I haven't had a Cascade for years, and he only "big" water I paddled in one was the lower Tuolumne and the warm up section of the NF Payette (Hounds tooth to below Otter Slide) so take this for what it's worth. I'm about 10 lbs lighter, and think that despite its weight and bulk, the Cascade respond...

Re: Sacramento region
As for the Truckee river, it is unfortunately as low as I have ever seen it since I moved here in 1999-2000. It's literally possible to walk across in places. I would think the releases on the SF American would be the best bet for actual water this summer.

Re: Pépé - An extra wide slalom C1
I feel deep envy:
1. For the boat- beautiful job
2. For the presence of water (and lots of it)
3. For the presence of slalom gates.
Enjoy....edg

Re: A Three Year Project: Slalom C1 to the latest specs
Looks like a really nice job. It's interesting how things evolve and come around- very hard tri-hull/chines for directional control, to no tri-hull, flat bottom, to fins for directional control: http://www.galasport.com/en/news/production-carbon-fins-has-started" onclick="window.open(this.href);retu...

Re: Roll Help
You look like you are doing a good job getting the paddle to the surface. You are doing a good job keeping your head low and in the water as long as possible. As a righty, try keeping the same paddle and head positioning, but focusing on driving your right knee up and pushing your left butt cheek do...

Re: how's it look?
Hey- I recognize that pool! I also noticed the narrow grip. A wider grip might be worth playing with, as it uses more back/trunk, and less arm. I might also play with keeping the T-Grip hand closer to the belly button- just to avoid getting stretched out/ banged on rocks in strong current. In my K-1...

Re: Choosing a boat to convert
I have a converted Prozone 230- probably similar to the Inazone. I'm 5'8"/165-170 lbs, and it's a tight fit. I would think that much over 200lbs or with a saddle much over 5" and things would get interesting quickly. I should add that I pretty much suck as a playboater....edg

Re: Slalom boat basics?
I also am/was a big fan of D. Hearn's "Canoe and Kayak Slalom Technique Stroke Drills". I used to watch it semi obsessively. Being able to consistently control the edges of the boat on flat water, especially at the limits of balance, has a huge carry over to whitewater. And if you can't do it on the...
