Re: Varathane or Varnish for Flatwater Canoe canoe?
Thanks very much for all the responses, I really appreciate it. I am looking forwards to getting after this project. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I have picked up some work after I lost work from the virus so it may wait another week or two. Once I get after it and see how the old finish comes off...

Varathane or Varnish for Flatwater Canoe canoe?
Hello, I have an older fiberglass flatwater canoe with wooden gunnels. The varnish is starting to come off on the gunnels. It is not a heavily used boat, I just want to clean it up. I was wondering on advice about sanding down the gunnells and doing a few coats of varathane on the gunnels. I have so...

Re: Titan Exile Conversion?
Thanks for the opinion and on the Karma and this. I think I'm gonna look at a mamba 8.1 or a medium Karma they both look like they'd make good c1s.

Re: C1 Karma question
Hey Gonzo I'm around your weight at 180 and am looking for a new boat to replace my well used everest, I was wondering what made you chose a medium over a large karma?

Titan Exile Conversion?
I was wondering if anyone had tried one or had any opinions? It looks kinda interesting with enough edge. I've been paddling an everest for the last 2 years but it's been welded now and is starting to get pretty beat up.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: C1 conversion: straps v. bulkhead
Thanks for all the interesting information. Sbroam, I am interested in what sort of plastic/thickness you used for creating the baseplate in your remix conversion?

Re: Pyranha Everest
Thanks those replies really help, I think i'll try and buy the everest, theres someone selling a used one for a reasonable price. It was reassuring that some of the questions i didn't even ask got answered. Another question, did you buy a skirt with the tunnel adjusted for a C1 for the boat or did a...

Pyranha Everest
I'm looking at an everest and have looked at the reveiws and it looks great, just wondering if I would be too light for it at around 180 lbs (and 5'11") or is there another reason not to try it? Appreciate feedback, sorry for repeating a topic, but couldn't definitively determine about weight.
Thanks
Thanks

Dagger Nomad 8.5
I'm thinking about buying a used nomad 8.5 and am wondering if people have found they need to order a custom skirt for the boat or if a normal (snapdragon) skirt will work? what sort of distance from the back of the cockpit to front of the backrest, people are using for the boat?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Water in werner bandit shaft
I was looking at my paddle and trying to find the leak and the t grip sheared off the shaft, i was disapointed and If I were to replace my tgrip I would heat it up, pop the old one out and then replace it with a homemade wooden one? I'm wondering about building a t-grip, what kind of wood and are th...

Re: Water in werner bandit shaft
Thanks for the advice, I'm in school now so I have time to wait, I tried putting it upside down and it seems as if some of the water has left, hopefully this takes care of it, Werner will fix it for free but I would have to ship it to them. I'm not overly keen about drilling into the shaft and after...

Water in werner bandit shaft
I have a carbon bandit i've used for 2 seasons and just noticed that there sounds like there is water in the shaft. I was just wondering if anyone has had this and how they fixed it. I'm concerned about heating up carbon fiber to pop off the t grip and dont really want a shorter paddle. also is this...
