Hi all, Anybody willing to fix me up with a boat in DC?
I am coming to Aledandria to see Mister Sam, the world champion grandbaby and would like to paddle Mather Gorge one day.
Anybody willing to paddle with me and/or lend me a boat?
I am coming Friday and staying until the 10th.
thanx, Chris Kelly

Mister pblanc, yes I have paddled an Ocoee a lot and
once owned a Viper.
I thought that the chines on the Holmes were sharper but maybe that is because of the Twintex.
I am a soft chine guy but enjoyed messing with the Holmes.

I am sooo exicited!!!!
Getting ready to outfit a new Rival and dug through my junk to see what I needed. Guess what, I had everything; saddle, knee pads, bags, d-ring pads, nice Esquif thigh straps, everything I need. When you are my age little things are all we have left. Buttercup is on the way to the barn and Violet wi...

There are lots.
We all agree that Section IV is class IV, No week goes by that some open boater doesn't paddle it.
Same for Daddy's, the Sinks, Upper Tellico, Crooked Fork and on and on.

Grumpy, I agree with Louie.
There are two possibilities; one we don't have much water. In that case you can run lower Tellico, Clear Creek and some other II/III stuff. Two, we will have a bunch of water and there will be lots o' II/III stuff. You will have a good time and nobody will care if you are whatever level boater. Chris

I am praying that 'LOUIE" does not become a derogatory
for open boaters.
I mean really, who wants to be called LOUIE!!!!
I can just hear it now: "look at that bunch of ugly Louies over there."

Mark, unless you you are independently interested in doing
the conversion it will not be time well spent. Buy a canoe paddle. As to length, just try a bunch of lengths until you decide what you are comfortable with. I think the stock formulas for deciding are bogus because we all paddle a bit differently. Come to ALF this Spring. There will be dozens of boa...

Yeah, both of the valves tend to be problems, for me anyway.
I take my bags out of the boat for any kind of long trip but realize that many people do not.
My friend Oc1 Kanubi sez he treats his air bags like British children in the coal mines. Once they go in they don't come out till they die.
