Drakkar Wheelboy C1 for sale

$250 or $300 with skirt. In great shape with just the normal scratches and wear. This C1 was, to my knowledge, the only purposeful built plastic C1 designed to be a playboat. Can do all the playboat moves. Has both a foam bulkhead for the knees and Northwater release-able thigh straps to keep you in...

Re: Knuckle scrapes

For skin scrapes that actually become infected, because of repeated immersion in dirty water despite the use of iodine, etc., I find, like arhdc, that the silver metal based antibiotics work real fast to clear up the infection and speed healing. The over-the-counter regular antibiotics and triple an...

Re: Conversions and knee spread

Pierre, The Burn I own was bought used and was one of the original versions ( the 2008 vintage), which I have been told has slightly different volumes than the later Burns. It was the Large model for that year, which might be slightly smaller than the large models of subsequent years. GSG - The Redl...

Re: Conversions and knee spread

GSG, I can comment on this issue in that I own and have converted both a Redline and a Pyranha Burn. In fact, I paddled the Redline today. It is my go-to river runner and surfer and I have been paddling it for about 12 years. I use the Burn for creeks and for big water where I don't want unexpected ...

Re: Boat of the Week - Perception Slasher

The Slasher was the 4th C1 I owned. When it came out, there was a fairly large contingent of C 1’ers here in Western Mass and myself and 5 other friends bought them. We all generally enjoyed them - at least for a time. Appreciating their speed, good outfitting, and ease of rolling, compared to the G...

Re: River Elf Storm Chaser C-1

Congrats River Elf. The Storm Chaser C1 looks like a great design. I really love semi-planing hulls. They seem to have the right mix of properties for river running and surfing. The high volume bow for re-surfacing, and only 22 - 24 lbs to boof - what is not to love. Alas, my present C1 conversion c...

Re: Water in werner bandit shaft

Milkman - Thanks for the heads-up. From what Ian says, it sounds like they changed the glue in the Bandits so I would have been skunked with my old approach. :D

Re: Water in werner bandit shaft

Being careful with a heat gun, I've never had problems removing the plastic T grip from carbon shaft Werners. I have done it over the years on 3 different Werners to shorten up the shaft. I put the T grip back on with epoxy and one small stainless steel screw thru the shaft and into the plastic T gr...

Re: 6'6" 250lbs for a taureau?

My 2 cents. Before I bought a Taureau (I bought the skirted version), I had gone 2 years without ever missing a roll in any of my C1's - combat, squirrely water, playing, whatever - no missed roles. Wanted a boat to do some creeking. Didn't want to do another conversion, and thought the Taureau migh...

Re: Drakkar Wheelboy

I paddled my Wheelboy today and again, had a blast. I weigh 194 lbs (88 kg's ?) minus gear. I feel I am at the upper weight range for the boat, so I feel that perhaps it is not quite the boat you might find fun. I don't use it for plain old river running. I have other C1's that I feel serve that pur...

Re: Everest (or Burn) Cockpit Trimming Question

In my Pyranha Burn, I have the thigh hooks and combing trimmed more or less exactly like AJ's, but I have added hip braces, made of bent polyethylene and foam. It is real comfy but the wife's poodle refuses to curl up in it like the cat. I have the backrest of the seat only 8 inches from the interio...

Re: ARF - Northeast Canoe Gathering (3 day event)

I will also be at the Put-in at the Dryway at 10 AM. In a C1, but will be looking for the ARF folks to paddle with. It will probably be my one run of the day, so I don't believe I will be rushing it.

Re: I don't like C-1ing

I've been in a Fink only twice, but have had many years in a Redline. The Fink is nothing like the Redline in playfulness or performance. Different hull shape (I believe it is a displacement hull) and it was longer. The Fink will be more stable and will handle bigger water more predictably, but ther...

795 is in English Pounds

Patrick,
I believe 795 pounds is approximately $1250 in US currency.
