Re: Request WV Governor help to fix Jenkinsburg Road (Cheat/
I drove this road yesterday. It's definitely in really rough shape.

Mystic as C1
Can anyone give me some input on a Mystic as C1? I picked one up for a good price and i'm deciding if its worth my time to convert.
Comparison to a Stomper C1 or L'edge would be cool.

I'm a similar weight to you. Paddle a Stomper and absolutely love it. I don't have much to compare it to though.
Here's some footage of me paddling it. https://vimeo.com/116221769" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: curious about c1
How hard is it to wet exit from a c1? Not hard at all. But totally depends on your outfitting and comfort level. I have double straps, knee bracket thing and hip pads. Never had a problem exciting. Some people would argue that it is sketchy. Have to pull a skirt and strap quick release. All within ...

Re: curious about c1
Also, I use a 58" paddle now, I'm guessing that would need to change? Shorter maybe? Yea. I use shorter for c1. Just base it off your saddle... If your open boat has a sadale of 8" and your c1 is 6" you'll be comfortable with a 2" shorter paddle. For me: L'edge 8" saddle 56" paddle Stomper 5" saddl...

Re: curious about c1
I recently got into C1 and am slowly paddling it more and more. I find it much more forgiving and have a lot more confidence in it. I still open boat a lot but generally save it for groups where I'm not the only canoe and for rivers that I have run a lot and like the added challenge. You'll hear a b...

Re: C1 Outfitting
That boat is the stomper. It's the only C1 that I've paddled so I don't have much to compare to. The only other boat I have paddled regularly is the L'edge. I can tell you how those compare?

Re: C1 Outfitting
Got to test it for two weeks in mexico. The insert packed in a snowboard bag with three paddles and a bunch of other gear. No issues flying it whatsoever. Set up and dropped in the boat in under an hour. I posted this video a little while back... All paddling using the insert. https://vimeo.com/1162...

Re: C1 Outfitting
The concern about the back rest is valid. It's hard to tell from the pics, just make sure that there is no way it can hurt your back if you were pinned to the back deck with force. I see what you mean about it potentially being a back breaking fulcrum... If I lower the back rest by about 2" it shou...

Re: C1 Outfitting
Slightly off topic - Mat was looking for screws for the grab loops on his Stomper C1 conversion yesterday, do you know what size they are? My guess was 1/4" UNC but one of the other guys reckoned 1/4" BSW or M6. :) (I presume he just got a shell to outfit). I didn't look at the grab loop, but every...
