funny thing the only folks who really wanted to buy it had no idea what it was, one guy wanted to take all the rigging out and put two seats in it to fish the chattahoochee with his 8 year old son, it sucks to try and sell a boat and have to talk people out of buying it.

I'm no expert, but I have recently been in your position. My advice, P/U a used XL13 you can find them for 3-400$, paddle it for a season and see if you want to stick with it, you will outgrow the boat in a season but you shud be able to resell for close to what you put into it or just hold on to it...

I'm no salty veteran but i just switched from a Maxim (pretty darn light) to an Option, i dont notice that much difference, its there but nothing too dramatic....no way i'd consider chopping parts out of for a pound or two..
