If you have a friend and access to a pool (or other body of still water), you can use what's in the C-FAQ to figure out where it goes: http://www.cboats.net/faq/conversion.shtml#in and http://www.cboats.net/faq/outfit2.shtml#position That way, it'll be customized for *you*, in case your leg:body pro...

It does have the enlarged cockpit, and I'd agree with Adam about getting the custom Mountain Surf skirt, unless you're really good at making your own.

Still not gone

Yeah, yeah, end of the season and all that, but Viper's still around. I'm heading to school in January, and it doesn't *have* to be gone by then, but it'd be very convenient if it was.

We always have to hold "beginner days", though, where no one with a consistent roll is allowed in a boat. Non-paddlers tend to be intimidated by all the trick boating, and warm pools are the best places to help beginners with their rolls before cold (frosty?)spring paddling season begins! That ther...

The captions need work, but...

Following is a link to a few pictures from my trip a couple weeks ago down the Fife Brook section of the Deerfield. Aside from the large group of kayaks in one of the pics and the rafters who launched before we did, we didn't see anyone else on the river. Made for a very nice time, in all. The boats...

The Wayback Machine

The Internet Archive (www.archive.org) contains portions (unfortunately not the entirety) of the Concordia website at Shadepine.com. Thought of using it when I was looking through ye olde C1 Race Boats section of this site and came upon this: "There is [was?] a photo of Tom Southworth working on the...

I'll post a new topic when I get it, assuming I win the auction. Then I'll set up the VCRs and make a day of it and doing laundry or something. That there was a quick response :D

Also, IMDB's full credits for the movie list the paddlers (near the bottom, under Stunts) for those interested in figuring out who they are.

Well, I just bid on an ebay auction for it (the ONLY auction that came up when I searched! :o ); only place I could find it. As such, I may just treat it as abandonware for anyone who wants to cover the cost of blank VHSes and shipping (couple bucks, max).

Nobody's adopted the Viper yet; it's currently sitting in storage at work, so if anyone wants to come test it out some weekend between now and the end of October (assuming nobody's grabbed it yet :o ), let me know and we'll set something up.

I read that review, too, while looking for a decent comparison between it and something I'd paddled. After reading that review, I want one. "Really strange handling characteristics" compared to a "regular" canoe!

The snap shackle! That's it! Such a wonderful device. Pretty sure the one in my Viper is indeed bronze, though I'd have to ask Neal; he just happened to have it kicking around. Alternatively, you can use two (attached by a single length of rope), one for each thigh strap. That's the setup that Neal ...

The other question is, did he just go off that rock, or did he get ejected from the water?

Er, yeah. Avoid the rocks.

Brought the Viper out today, paddled for five minutes, switched it out for an Encore. Just wasn't feelin' the C-love today. BUT it was beautiful day for paddling - fog on top of the mountains and hills, rainy, all sorts of fun weather, and a bigger release than projected. So I have a few good pictur...

Jim! (and anyone else in the area... and Adam, since there's pictures for the site involved) The Viper'll be there tomorrow, with me in it. The release is at 10 (scheduled for 730 CFS, to go up to 900 from 11-1), and I think our launch time'll probably be sometime between 10:30 and 11, which'll put ...
