It's all timing, even if your roll is arm dominant (not ideal but not uncommon from what I see..) I fitted straps into my BD,
The quick release is bolted directly to the plastic saddle between my legs and the straps go back to the thwart bolts...it made a massive difference to the feel in the cockpit!

The SweetSkills Video was filmed using half a Canoe pole attached at the stern of the L'edge, From What Kelvin said it worked great but if he needed to roll it would cause huge issues....
