Re: Paul Fantetti

Laura, Thanks for posting on here, and I'm sorry for you and your family. I will also pass this info along to some others that knew him. The Blackwater is a beautiful place, and a fitting place for a memorial. It's difficult to get down into the canyon on foot, but worth the effort for those that ca...

Paul Fantetti

I just saw some sad news on Facebook that Paul Fantetti passed. I haven't been in touch with him in a couple of years and never met any of his family, so I don't know any additional details. Paul was one of the pioneers of class 5 open boat paddling, in his pink Dagger Prophet. He had the first OC-1...

Re: jackson Fun1 c-1 playboat for sale

my apologies, i totally listed it wrong. it's a jackson fun, not the fun 1 that i have listed above in the subject line. i wasn't aware that there was a difference until you pointed that out. (glad i didn't ship it out to you with the wrong size). it's an adult size boat, but for a small adult i wou...

Re: Questions about New Zealand

I spent a couple of weeks there maybe 6 years ago. We spent one week just sight-seeing, then a week paddling on the west coast of the south island, mostly with helicopter access. Water was medium high for most of the trip from combination of rain and snowmelt, and levels were very difficult to predi...

spare c-1 paddle at Green Narrows if ever needed

I stashed a spare c-1 paddle at the Green Narrows in case it's ever needed as an emergency back-up to paddle out. It's 56 inches, so works well for c-1, not ideal for OC-1 but better than nothing. So if you break a paddle in there, feel free to use it, but be sure to replace it promptly. It's stashe...

Re: any c-2's for sale out there?

Thanks for the replies. Northwest is a little too far, but thanks for the info. I'd be interested in seeing pix of the Patriot. NY is still far away but I have some friends in that direction and could maybe work out some kind of relay delivery if necessary. My email is jackditty at mac.com.

Great performance for US slalom c-1 today

Not sure where to find the results online, but saw a link on FB to today's US slalom team trials results at ASCI. Casey Eichfield took 1st place for the day, ahead of Michal Martikan. Just thought it was worth mentioning on here. Considering Martikan's accomplishments, I think it is simply amazing t...

Re: Green Race.

Don't know full results or time exactly, but I think it went like this in the C-1 class: 1. Jordan Poffenburger (just over 5 minutes) 2. Tad Dennis 3. Dane Jackson OC-1 Jordan with a new course record! (7 something) The open boats had a good showing with a big water level and a great race all around...

Re: FS: G-Power wildwater paddle

with a t-grip it's around 55 inches. I removed the original to use for another paddle. Most of my paddles have been 56-57 inches for recreational paddling and other types of racing. For wild water racing I like something a little shorter because of the much faster stroke rate (very different than sl...
