Re: C-1 Creek Boats, time for a new one, what to get?
I've only paddled a few modern creek boats so my advice is limited but I replaced my Remix with a Bliss Stick Mystic and have been very happy. Good primary and secondary stability, good edge without being too grabby and just seems to be shaped the right way to make for a comfortable conversion. My o...

Re: How's the Blackfly Delta at running rivers?
Thanks for the feedback guys, probably going to stick with my plan of finding a bigger c1.

How's the Blackfly Delta at running rivers?
In comparison to a modern conversion playboat and just in general? I have no problem getting my Space Cadet down class 3 runs but in between waves its more work than fun.

Terrible news for sure.
Clipper is still making the viper and probe as well as their tripping canoes with their composite WW layup.

I'd wear a wetsuit on warmer days if I could but I don't fit into my c1's.

Amazing job in general but what I'm most interested in is how do you make the leg casts? I want that in my boats!

Re: C1 conversion: straps v. bulkhead
Larry that's the slickest conversion I've seen to date! Super jealous. I'm finding the bulkhead in my conversions a pain, I'm going to have to try something like that.
BTW, I ended up stealing your ski idea for my latest mystic conversion and it worked super well!

Re: LL Space Cadet? Playboat advice needed...
Hey Gonzo, I'm 165. I've been talking with Rick (Pierre) and will be trying both the Delerious and the Big Ez he has for sale and will likely purchase one of them. The Delerious looks like it'll be a better ocean surfer but the Ez looks like it might be better for the tiny hole waves we get on our r...

LL Space Cadet? Playboat advice needed...
Curious what people think of the Space Cadet as a conversion. It's my current playboat, and the only one I've ever spent much time in so I'd like an idea of how it compares to others. I find it unbearably slow, pretty unstable (with a 5.5" saddle) and hard to manage in squirelly water. Having said t...

I'll echo what Gonzo said. I'm 6', 165 lbs and the L'edge was just too much boat.

Re: curious about c1
Yeah, I missed the "lean right" part when we were given the beta and the rock thwarted my first roll. It's not often I miss a roll. The rest of the run went pretty well other than a swim out of hammering spot.

Re: curious about c1
Nice vids Buster! I just ran Canyon creek last week. Possibly the most fun I've ever had on a river, even with my nearly non-existent offside boof. Swizzle Sticks got me too... Paul posted a vid showing my failed attempt.

Re: big hands seek winter paddling warmth?
I used mitts http://www.palmequipmenteurope.com/product/talon" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. They allow to feel the grip, all fingers are together and warm. Bad thing with pogies is when you release the paddle for some reason after that is difficult to thrust palm back in. IMHO it ...
