Well my view is you are comparing an older style boat with a more modern racing specific boat. Just even the weight difference is decent. Train with a slalom group. The coaches there will know how to train specifically for paddling and to prevent injuries.

Looking for Slalom C-1
I am looking for a slalom c-1 for training and racing. A boat suited to about 75 kg to 90 kg paddler would be idle. I am based out of Alberta, Canada.
