Re: Need so outfitting help

The boat is asymetrical. The inside edge of the backrest should be 11" behind center. I used to outfit boats for Mikey.

I would just like to point out that all the really good canoeists (sp?) Kaz, Dooley, Eli, and more, do not trash talk. They don't impose their views on others, or critize those that have different ideas of a good time on the water. Search the site and read their posts. They are secure in their skill...

I think a patch works much better then just glue. Use Vynabond for the glue and a piece of an old air bag or other vinyl. Also look for Thermarest patch kit, they work great too. :P

Ocoee pedestal

John: I have outfitted quite a few. I usually place the spine of the paddler 7 inches behind the center (Mikey gave me the dimension) . Thats usually just the edge of the backrest of the pedestal. That puts the boat neutral.

It is too bad that that the intent makes it so easy for people to critize people that they would never had the courage in real life to confront. I would hope that c-boaters would have the dececy to be up front, and if you have a problem with someone you take it to them. My opinion is that the cheap ...

Mshelton: So tell us what you have done for the canoeing community. Designed boats? Taught? I am assuming you do more then just talk about canoeing on the internet. We would love to hear.

Modern Canoeing????

"designed by someone who about as far removed from modern canoeing as one can get."

I am interested to hear what "moderin canoeing" is and how it differs from other canoeing.

Just curious.
