Jame Install a hatch on the rear deck. The hatches are cheap ($10) and take about 15 minutes to install with a dremil and screw driver. I added one to my Taureau, to access the rear deck to store lunch, dry bag , etc. There are pictures if you search the forum. I think my hatch is 8 inches in Diamet...

I've never seen a Quake without a cockpit rim, and probable won;t have ever noticed, but after readng this thread, last night I was looking at the book Thrill of the Paddle. It you look at the Quake in the Boats section, it doesn't have a cockpit rim, while the yellow one Mark is paddling through ou...

Colin Why don't you try an Ocoee. There are a lot of big guys paddling Ocoee and its a boat you can grow into and continue to learn on. Why not a Zypher? Seeing you paddle, I think you are ready to move up as long as your willing to spend a little more time upside down as you go through the learning...

Looking forward to seeing you again, and the Tellico :)

Schools out in Ontario, the week of March 10th and I think we'll have an even bigger Canadian migration this year.

Hey Dooley, Great video. Great to paddle with you last weekend as well. Your runs on the Fat Lady of the Independence or on Surform would have been great additions. Best runs on both of those rapid.

I'm looking forward to getting out with you again in March in you neck of the woods.

AJ I've had a Taureau for a little over a year now and came from and Ocoee. I've only paddled the Skeeter once. The Taureau is light, dry, dimble, and stable. It does not have as hard chines as the Ocoee, but will carve turns and you can release the boat much easier. It's great surfing and will spin...

I also have a Taureau and have paddled it hard for the last year. Its the new model, and it is holding up well. I beleive the splitting problem is corrected. And it not showing any real signs of significant ware after about 60-70 days of use. I believe you will be happy with either boat, but you sho...

You wouldn't be disappointed. We went last year and the river and people were fantastic. Hopefully it will happen again this year. Louie did a fantastic job last year. I'm planning to head down for March break again, and probably will every year from now on. You must paddle the Telico and the Noli i...

I have 2 Echo'Pursuits and have had Mitchell's previously. Andy at Echo is great to deal with, he will make adjustments as requested when building your paddle. I had one of the Pursuits laid up for creeking and it has held up really well after 2 hard years (I is heavier and a lot stiffer but it has ...
