Re: Where to stay in Wausau?

ChrisD, My only question for you is, why are you just coming to Wausau to watch?!?! If you are hanging around on CBoats, I assume you have some basic skills at the very least. You have some time before July rolls around to hone those skills a bit more. You will not find a more supportive inviroment ...

Re: Kokatat Meridian - question of the size

DO NOT get an XL. I am 6' 3" and 190 pounds and have that suit in XL. My daughter, who is 5'11" and 170 pounds has a L. I would steal it from her if I could... it fits me fine without all the extra material. My XL is even a little too big with major layering. Your height with a L will not be an issue.

Re: WESTFEST 2012

I am planning to come, especially if I can get a buddy to join me. I live about 6 hours away in Hamilton, Montana. I used to live in Boise 27 years ago and paddled the Payettes in an Old Town Tripper, both solo and tandem. Should be more fun in an Ocoee. I will bring a Caption as well. Looking forwa...

Re: Blackfoot River Challenge June 23-24

Can we make this post sticky??

Anyone who lives within 10 hours of this event should come over for it. It is a great open boat slalom course, with some other excellent runs close by. Make a long weekend of it!

Hey Pat, One of these years we will meet... I still need to address my issues with the Canadian government. When I do, I will definitely be coming to your event each year. This is just some friendly taunting here, but Heather is going to kick your butt!! I don't really know your skill level (I'm sur...

Carpooling to Nationals

Anyone who lives West or North of me, going to Nationals?? I live 45 miles South of Missoula, Montana (Hamilton). If I go, it will have to be a fast trip. Leaving the evening of Tuesday the 5th, driving 'til I fad and hope to arrive mid-day on Wednesday. Also plan to leave right after it wraps up on...

Here are a few thoughts and facts.... Colorado is a great paddling destination/vacation. The last Nationals in Colorado (1999) had the second best turn-out ,99. Only Minden, Ont. (2002) topped that number with 115. All other sites over the years have had between 70 and 90ish. There are plenty of ope...

I had the Northwater toe blocks in a Millbrook Defiant for 10 years. I thought they worked nearly as well and were much more comfortable than the yakimas in my Ocoees. I had/have shin blocks in both but with the NW, my foot was at a more gentle 45 or less angle. Another nice feature was that I could...

Richard, I have to say, I think you really underestimate the number of open boaters in the West. I second the post by Cadster and others out here... you would really be missing the boat not to send SOMEONE on your behalf, THIS year, the year OC Nats. are in Golden. A rep could hit Wisconson in early...
