Re: SPRAY SKIRTS

Besides doing my own skirts, I've used Snapdragon for my race boat. I sent them a paper template of the cockpit. Very high quality and worth the money.

Re: Hornet and Magnet comparisons

I live in CT and take 81 when I go back and forth to Bryson City. Next time I'm traveling back from B.C., I'll give you a heads-up. I can bring the boat with me.

Re: Hornet and Magnet comparisons

"Adam, just loan me your Amoeba for a while and I'd be glad to do a comparison." My latest race boat design is similar to the Amoeba (based on the same Estanguet race boat) except with lower stern volume and dimensioned legal for slalom. It's currently stored in Bryson City. I'll be going down there...

You might be able to adapt a water-bottle holder made for bikes.

The Hornet is happiest with people under 150 lbs, the Wide Ride was for Bob Connolly (200+ lbs).

Re: Air bags for an old ovation

I've tried to seal with urethane spray paint a few times, and it never lasted long past an inflation test. It slowed down the leakage some, but not enough to use a bag in a critical location.

Re: decking out OC

They are only a little better than full bags in keeping water out, but they make it difficult to get the water out. I tried it about 40 years ago when "float bags" weren't nearly as nice as now, too. Generally, you're looking at a looming disaster with water in the boat.

Re: Specs on Old Town Pathfinder Canoe?

Hi folks. Helping a friend who's not computer literate sell her Old Town Pathfinder that seems to fit this description exactly. Could anyone please advise what she should ask for it? It's very lightly used and hasn't been in the water for about 5 years. Many thanks! Denis If it's in really good sha...

Re: why would you not use a pump?

I can understand the appeal of pumps... but I'd rathe just paddle a C1 and keep the water out in the first place;) Otherwise part of the challenge to me is a dry (as possible) run. I'm surprise Kaz even uses a sponge... I'd think it would outweigh the amount of water he gets in his boat :o He uses ...
