So I've been looking at a Bell Prodigy or Prodigy X The Prodigy(s) are OK for beginners and will function for river tripping. But several newbies I have known who bought Prodigys quickly outgrew them and soon sold them for something a bit more playful. To be honest you probably need two boats - one...

Re: thanks dennis

Is watco available about anywhere? Or Lowes??? Just about any hardware or paint store which probably includes Lowes. There are a lot of "flavors" in the Watco product line and I couldn't find one I liked for my new Spark last fall. So, I decided to use good old Linseed oil. I am happy with that cho...

Re: durability - royalite

Well I've had my Spark all of a month so we aren't talking about extensive data, but so far it's looking pretty tough. Not much water in the midwest so the runs (all three of them) have been full on bump and scrape fests. It could be the camo color, but you have to look hard to see scrapes/scratches...

As mom always said,

If you can't say anything nice then shut your fricking yap. :o
Really, she did. If nothing else mom was colorful.

Also, it's important to remember that kayakers are our friends. Not food.

Y.A.G.G.S.

Y et A nother G unwale G rabbing S imile Grabbing the gunwales is like a driver grabbing the dashboard when something bad happens on the road immediately ahead. This goes hand-in-hand with the phrase, taking your paddle out of the water is like taking your hands off the steering wheel. (I heard tha...

RE: What's a Dimension worth these days?

I recently sold one in very good condition for $400. Did I sell too low? Seemed a fair price to me.

Re: Video Recording and Paddling Movies

I am also curious if anyone uses VideoStudio or any other movie editing software? AJ, I don't use VideoStudio but my day job is as a video editor. I have been recommending Pinnacle Studio version 10.5 lately when friends or family ask what they should use. None has come back and said, "What were yo...

Congratulations!

You're a lucky man to have two such lovely ladies under your roof.

Does this mean you won't be at the release on Sunday?

narrow, and eddyless, and shallow. oh wait, that describes the whole creek, What'd you expect from an urban creek on the prarire? At least it's moving. :-? Next time I am in the cities, we should paddle, I usually return late may for my job, and am in and out of minneapolis for a few months. Sure t...

Re: thanks

Isaac, Where in St. Paul are you? Actually, I live in Shoreview and work in downtown Minneapolis. If you haven't done it, there is a tiny little slide on the minnehaha right under the 50th street bridge, and I am not sure what the CFS are right now, but when I drove over it last night, it looked abo...

Hi Dave, Full dry suits, snow and bug hoods…. A combination I wasn’t aware existed. Do you guys have frost-proof skeeters up there? I think we only saw one mosquito. Black Flies however were evident about 6 hours after the snow melt and were in full force by noon the following day. By "full force" ...

Have you done any multi-day trips in your Rival? I've been very happy using my Rival for multi-day trips on rivers with lots of class III and IV rapids. The Rival carries 210 lb. of me and 50 (or more) pounds of gear quite well. The gear does not affect the boat adversely in any way except it requi...

Re: which lithium battery pack did you use

Do you use the Atwood 1250 pump? The lead battery is great, but I am ready to switch to lithium batteries to decrease weight. Wendy, I am happily using an Atwood 1250 in my Rival. For a batt I went with a Ni-MH battery instead of the lithium mostly to save $. Not only was the battery cheaper but so...

SOLD Dagger Dimension

In very good condition, this classic big water tandem needs a good home. It has never been folded, stapled or mutilated but does have the scratches and dings that you would expect on a boat that’s seen a lot of whitewater. Basic facts: Red, Royalex, vinyl gunwales, length 16, width 34”, weight appro...
