Re: NRS Velocity, any experience?
JDryden78, I wouldn't bother. Stopped by NRS today (7 miles away) and put on a pair. Way too stiff for kneeling. I have a couple of pairs of either the Desperado Wetshoe or the Men's Paddle Wetshoe, not sure which. Although they are not as tough as the Velocity, they are very comfortable in the knee...

Re: Grand Ronde boatable flow
Hi Carol: I realize that you have cancelled your Grande Ronde trip, but thought I'd fill you in on runnable levels, just in case you do a future trip. I'm 65 miles from Boggan's Oasis (where highway 129 cross the Grande Ronde) and it is a regular class 2 run for us in these parts. The upper stretch ...

Quake for Sale on BoaterTalk
Not My Boat.
There is a Dagger Quake for sale on Boatertalk (posted yesterday). I recall that there are a number of Cboaters recently looking for one, so here is your chance.
If you are interested in a Pyranha Spanish Fly, I'll be posting one for sale later this week.
Good luck.

Re: t-formex
There is a short piece in Paddler concerning T-Formex. Here is the online link: https://www.rapidmedia.com/canoeing/categories/news/2992-royalex-crisis,-solved-full-story.html . Definitely worth the read. You should also read the press release (there is a link that is imbedded in the Paddler piece)....

Pyranha Prelude for sale in the Pacific Northwest
Not My Boat.
There is a Pyranha Prelude for sale in Sandpoint, ID and listed on the NRS Gearswap website. The specific URL is: http://community.nrs.com/gear-swap/show-ad/?id=2464. You don't see boats like this listed around here, so if someone is interested, take the plunge.

Re: oc boating after knee surgery...
Truckeeboater, About 12 years ago, just a couple years into cboating, I tore the ACL in my left leg (too much basketball). The orthopedic surgeon in town came highly recommended from others who had had the same malady; he does all of athletes at my university who need a replacement (has plenty of bu...

Re: Anyone ever open boated the Selway?
Truckeeboater, do a search and you will find plenty who have run the Selway. That said, be forewarned, the snowpack for the Clearwater drainage is at 125% of normal. Generally, the peak run-off is the last week of May or the first week of June. Average long term flows at peak at the Lowell gauge are...

Re: WESTFEST 2013
Hi Jeff and Westfesters: Looks like I'll be missing Westfest - messed up my knee in April and it has not allowed me to kneel for any extended time. I'll try again next year. Hope you all have a good time. Be safe. Marc P.S. Not all bad - got an offer for a low water run on the Selway. Only bad thing...

Re: traveling with airbags...
Truckeeboater, I'm with Eddyhops and Ezwater. I leave mine in and never take them out. No problems. However, I live in the west like you and a 4,000 foot or higher change in elevation is a regular boat shuttle. Just make sure that you let out enough air before gaining altitude so that you don't pop ...

Re: Battery to build a Lightweight Bilge Pump Syetem
arhdc, I've been using the connectors shown in your link for the past 5 years and not had a problem, except that in cold water or weather, they are hard to connect and hard to take apart. Other than that, no problem. My system is 12 AA NiMH (2600 mAh, 14.4 volts) in a piece of 2 inch diameter pvc tu...

Re: off-side side-surf?
Truckeeboater, although the following video link discusses kayak wave technique, I'm sure that you will agree that it is useful: http://vimeo.com/4287708. Since you are driving one of Jeremy's boats, I didn't think that you would mind.
