mental vs. physical
There have been a lot of good posts on the mental side of the subject but lets not forget about the technique. I have found that for me if I think about technique I am not worried that I'll come up. IMHO here are some things I feel certain help me when rolling an open boat or c1. Good set up Arch yo...

wenatchee feedback
I have run the wenatchee several times and I would say you should be fine. The river is challenging but no more than any other class III or IV river. It seemed more like a III to me. There are tons of people at that time of year so it would be no problem to get a shuttle or meet someone to paddle wi...

Dagger phantom
This boat changed my world thats for sure. I think the size is the biggest factor. When I get in an ocoee or an outrage know they feel like tanks.. The phantom fits my size well, 160lbs, and has allowed me to progress as a paddler. I like that it will do anything from step creeks to big water. I jus...

hello
Thanks for the photos. I've run phils numerous times and I gotta say the right side would seem to be a little shallow being close to the island and all, how'd that work out for you? I've mostly run the middle line at phils, it's pretty scary fun. The ottawa is one heck of a river. I need to get back...

grand canyon feedback
Jims response got me thinking maybe this thread would be better entitled "looking for grandcanyon boat feedback", I was planing on taking my phantom but it's pretty beat up. The paradigm appeals to me because of the length. I appreciate your feedback about what boats have worked for you and what hav...

Paradigm for Big Water
Anyone get their paradigm out on some big stuff yet? I am looking for feedback on how the boat handles large volume water such as the ottawa or the colorado?
thanks

my 2 cents
This conversation is funny, it's nice to see all the different views on canoeing and the designers and stuff. I do disagree with one point made in this thread, namely that bob isn't into creeking etc. I think he was into that kinda stuff at one point, watch the video of him and mike yee droping huge...

Nomad C1 maiden voyage
I decided to get off my butt and outfitt my nomad over the last several days. I had elaborate plans for some outfitting that I have seen another user on this board post.Instead, I ended up throwing in my dagger aftershock pedestal and using the mike yee outfitting attached to it. I took it to the lo...

A couple other thoughts
I feel like some key pointers would have been really helpful to me when I was struggling with my stern draw. In fact I still struggle with the draw and aside from the forward stroke it's the one stroke I'll be working on forever. So IMHO here are a couple of resources that have worked for me. Kent F...

some suggestions
It sounds like a stern draw issue. Mine is by no means text book but one thing to keep in mind, IMHO, the most powerful part of the draw is the sweet spot right next to the boat. What will often happen to me is I will be trying to draw the boat and nothing is happening until you get to that last lit...

thanks
Econpaddler thanks for the feedback. I figured I would need to get used to the boat, as with any new boat. Thanks again. I'm kinda surprised you are the only one to post though, I figured this would be something that other zoom owners would have noticed.

Zoom questions
Greetings everyone, I have a question for zoom owners out there. I am going to purchase a zoom to alleviate the beating my phantom is taking and wanted to know a couple of things. First, I paddled one today and it seemed like because of the haul design my knees were considerably closer together then...
