Re: Red Can needs a friend.

I had some delamination in the chine of a Zoom. We cut through the ABS on the outside, squirted in some gorilla glue, and added just a little bit of water. Real surprised at how fast, and how much it expanded. We had to scramble to get it clamped down. This was a year or so ago, and it's held very w...

Re: Drysuits

You might think you can just use the regular zipper. But don't forget that it's under the pfd. And you'll have to take the helmet off the get the pfd off. And after willy gets cold, he's not as long as he was when you were trying on the drysuit in the shop, so more than likely you'll have to take th...

Re: New Years Costa Rica w/ Esprit

YTCanoe, you are going to have such a great time in Costa Rica. I'm tempted to join you even though I've just returned from there. The water is bigger and warmer than in Mexico. You might need a drytop only if it's raining and windy. Bring insect repellent -- I tried to do without, but relented abou...

teetering or odd feeling

YTcanoe: No teetering feeling at all (or other oddness). But you CAN change the trim by leaning forward or backward. I had Louie check it out in an eddy: sitting normally upright, the trim was level. Lean back, and it was stern heavy; lean forward and it was bow heavy. Just the way I like it. Of cou...

option impressions

Okay, I wanted a little more time in the boat to post my impressions, but it looks like it may be a while before I'm back in the boat. I've only paddled the Option for two days on the upper Tellico. My usual boat is the Zoom (been paddling it for 5-6 years). I paddled the L'Edge for 6 days in Mexico...

Gord:

I think I still have your pump that I picked up in an eddy on Greenbrier. PM me an address and I'll mail it to you.

ALF options

Had my Option delivered to me at ALF Saturday morning in the Shoney's parking lot. It's now Tuesday morning, and I haven't even sat in the boat yet. My son took the boat away from me in the parking lot and wouldn't give it back (he's a buttboater, but now I think he may be back from the dark side). ...

One small problem

I don't think they are open that early in the year; you might want to give them a call first. From what I've heard, a bunch of the ALF people are going to the KOA near Sweetwater. I camped there a couple of days last year. Okay, but I thought it was kinda expensive. Haven't decided yet what I'll be ...

Re: MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmexico!

http://vimeo.com/18064657 ... which makes me want to head to the airport TODAY!!! :D As it turned out, I was at the airport headed for Mexico at about the same time Craig made this post. I returned yesterday, and am just now catching up on cboat threads. If you are thinking about going to Mexico fo...

GAF

Couple of Lost Tribe members left today (Friday); will be at the sale when it opens. Look for 'em, they'll be wanting to paddle. I think Mr. Deadlegs is there, too.
