Re: pump issues
So what you find? If it's a single pump you could just switch the battery terminals to change the polarity to the pump. It will make no difference if you switch power or ground.

Re: pump issues
Try shorting the switch. It's possible you have a voltage drop across the switch.

Dual pump wiring
I'm putting dual pumps in and I was referencing the PDF on this site. I noticed that the white wire was not used. The wiring for me is not an issue, (kinda my job). My question is: does everyone follow this like a standard cause that would be really cool being able to just plug your battery pack int...

Re: gluing vinyl d ring patches to royalex
Another tip taught to me be Zack at inflatable technologies in Denver(professional raft repair guy) is to use a grinding stone on a dremmel to scuff your spot. I don't have a dremmel so I use an air grinder. The stone is a 1 inch cone looking thing and I only use the side of the cone. I got mine at ...

Re: gluing vinyl d ring patches to royalex
I've worked with stabond for years on rafts. I don't use a roller I used a 1 inch hard puddy knife that I've rounded off the corners. Just a warning to anyone who is unfamiliar with this stuff, you paint up both sides wait 5 minutes, then apply. You do not get a second chance to shift what you are g...

Re: Boat repair
Not trying to step on anybody's toes John,. I just don't see why Lego slurry wouldn't work as long as the foam is covered by the epoxy. The acetone doesn't eat the epoxy.

Re: Boat repair
I just repaired a boat using Legos. Myself I might try using g-flex pre thickened epoxy to cover foam. Let set up for a day. Then cut some fiberglass cloth to cover. Sand away the nylon(red) in the area to be patched since the Legos won't adhere to it. Melt some Legos in acetone, I'd use red. You wa...

Re: Air bags for an old ovation
Just patched it. Used some nylon fabric. No one mentioned how hard it is to get aquaseal off of your fingures. Hand soap, then dish soap, then gojo, then acetone, then toulene kinda worked. Can't wait to inflate and check for leaks again.

Re: Air bags for an old ovation
Thanks for the reply. I went out and got some aqua seal today. I think I'm going to cut the d ring strap flush with the bag and patch over the whole thing. I was thinking about using some fabric from a ratted out back pack or tool bag as my patch material.

Re: Air bags for an old ovation
I found the leaks. It's a pin hole in one bag but the other is leaking from under a d-ring. It's where the strap holding it attaches. Not sure what I can do about this yet. Now what kind of fabric should I use. I have some pvc repair material from an old ducky I used to have. I have sheets of hypolo...

Re: Air bags for an old ovation
Thanks Bob. I won't try spraying them then, thanks for saving me the time and materials. I was thinking maybe I should contact nrs, they say guaranteed for life on their website.

Re: Air bags for an old ovation
Come on guys. I guess what I'm asking is if there is anything that I could spay on the bags to stop leaks, like spar urethane or something. Then I'm asking if Harmony nylon bags are ok cause if not I will go with nrs. I've had good experiences with them and their customer support throughout the year...

Air bags for an old ovation
Well I just finished repairing an old ovation. The guy who sold me it(for a 12 pack of good beer) told me that the air bags leak. I used my raft inflator and screamed them up last night. This morning they where flat. The bags are old nrs nylon bags. I looked at them good this afternoon and they are ...

Re: question about abs slurry repair for royalex
Well I laid glass cloth into the abs. I wish you replied sooner pac as I learned that many thin layers of abs is best. The top layer dries while the inner is still liquid underneath and it takes hours to cure if you go too thick. So far I've only done the outside. Just cut up a bunch of grey Legos f...
