I've had surprisingly good results with Loctite Vinyl, Fabric & Plastic flexible adhesive. It's available almost everywhere. I used it on two d-ring patches in kind of a time crunch the first time. One patch came off about six months later when I forgot to tighten down the thigh strap for transport....
