Re: WANTED: Bell Prodigy X

My reply was in regards to the Prodigy X, not the ME. Unfortunately I don't have one of those :(

Re: WANTED: Bell Prodigy X

I actually have one that I'm going to be listing soon (just waiting on airbags to arrive for my new boat). I am in Chattanooga, TN so logistics might be a challenge.

Re: C1 Conversion and recommended "Paddler Weight"- Need Advice!

If you haven't met them already, Cheajack is in that area and paddles both C1 and OC. Mike W is in Roanoke Rapids if my memory is correct and has a few C1s and conversions.

Re: Pump Adhesives

I think you should try this instead of the Attwood - will handle the load better. Not sure on the adhesives - can probably wedge it under an airbag :P .

Re: Pumps

Inflatables are self-bailing no? Nope - not all of them - the ones that aren't, the paddlers hop out and dump. There was a post on the forum about a self bailing canoe - believe it was a spanish fly with holes drilled through the sides to lose most of the water. It basically relied on the air bags ...

Re: Pumps

I don't paddle that much any more (whitewater at least - none within a reasonable distance) but will throw my 2¢ in, which is what it's probably worth. On a paddling trip, I had an issue with one of the flotation bags (valve stem) with my Ocoee and borrowed a spare bag from a friend. My bags were 48...

Re: NC Vacation - wanna paddle?

I probably won't be up there that week (living in Tampa, FL now) but the week of the 4th is the Carolina Canoe Club's "Week of Rivers". You should have no problem at all finding groups to paddle with on a wide variety of rivers in the area. https://www.carolinacanoeclub.org/content/week-rivers-2013"...

Re: AB Question

I know that AquaBound does offer 2 or 3 piece options, so it doesn't hurt to ask. Are you wanting it as a break down spare or for a primary paddle?

Re: Identify this boat

The seats look like those in Indian River canoes (flat water boats) and thwart placement looks right too, but I've never seen one that wasn't made of fiberglass and definitely not IR deck plates.

Look around at this site - not canoe specific but fixes for most joint and soft tissue type issues. http://www.mobilitywod.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I would look into a dry suit if you can swing it (with the booties built in and a relief zipper). A shorty wetsuit is an intermediate weather option, and you can wear it under the dry suit when it's even colder to add a little bit of insulation too. Wetsuits work when you're wet, but not at that fir...

I think the "perfect" boat is like the "perfect" woman. There may be one that is perfect for you, but probably not one that is perfect for everybody. Try as many as you can and if you can't find one that fits all of your needs, if you can afford it, keep several. If you happen to be female or...
