Re: Ever thought about building a whitewater SUP?
Nice job Smurf. I tried it once, a rental on vacation. I thought that I could apply my snowboarding experience to it...not even close. To me anyway, the complete lack of final stability was a fatal flaw. Frustrated, desperate and cheap enough to always try to get my money's worth out of something no...

Very nicely done. My own humble opinion, I find the stern squeeze very useful when finishing off at the groover. I also use it involuntarily when scouting a gnarly drop for too long.

Re: How to prepare body for max comfort (knees)
Just curious, how many of you run regularly? If so, do you feel that you moan and groan more, less or about the same as other paddlers (I know this one is pretty subjective).

Re: How to prepare body for max comfort (knees)
Aahh! A topic that really effects my day on the river. Good thread. I agree with the ideas on yoga and sitting on a training saddle around the house. What helps me is doing a short mild warmup then good stretching on my quads, hamstrings, calves, feet and lower back right before paddling. I've been ...

Re: L'edge L'ime L'imited
Does the placement of the bow result in a dryer ride? Does Esquif plan on offering this on all their boats in the future?

Dang! Too late for me. Shot the budget on a red one. Cool color though.

I received a pleasant e-mail response from Esquif yesterday, indicating that there was no issue with adding a sheet of plastic to the inside of the hull as long as I didn't screw it on. I decided not to round the saddle corners, so I didn't ask Esquif about that. Still, if anyone else is thinking of...

Plastic Welding Compatibility
This post is going to reveal that I didn't do very well in college chemistry. I have tracked down a dead kayak, 5(?) year old Pyranha. I plan to cut it up for hull reinforcement and save some scraps in case I need to weld cracks on plastic boats. I have a Pyranha Fly of about the same vintage and a ...

The mini cell idea is a good one. Some kayak manufacturers have been doing similar plastic in cockpit area for a while. I took a real hard impact under the seat of a Pyranha boat once. The inner layer of plastic cracked, but the outer hull had a crease an inch deep but no break. I think that it woul...
