Re: why would you not use a pump?
Because when I use an electric pump and never get out of the boat to dump water my legs get too stiff.

[quote="arhdc"]Alright, Octane 85 - Planing Hull - Scaled down version of an Octane 91/92 intended for smaller paddlers/women. Most anyone that I know that has had one and liked it was 150lbs or less. Much edgier than the larger 91. Not used for creeking by most due to edginess, more of a river runn...

Wood paddle repair question
i have two Pothole canoe paddles. They are fantastic paddles however the Dynell tip has worn off one of them. It was repaired but the repair has not held up. What is the best epoxy to use to repair the tip of a wooden paddle and how does one attach more Dynell?

Best way to keep airbag from interfering with pump
I have a system in place to attach an electric pump to the back of the saddle in the Octane 85 using a bungee through the drain holes. The pump is attached to the battery, with the only space available for it being behind the saddle. The problem is when airbag is fully inflated it doesn't leave much...

Re: New to WW Canoe world... questions
Is it better to start in an open boat and work up to a converted C1? I would say yes unless you are already comfortable in a kayak. Blackfly as first boat? Option vs Octane? Yes Blackfly makes the best boats. Try both and see which one strikes your fancy. I have a friend with a Wave Sport Stubby - ...

Re: Ledge or octane
. . .I've paddled the Drop Zone too. At least the demo I paddled was as wide and stable as the Octane 91 . . . Thanks, boatbuster! Comments elsewhere say that the DZ is prob'ly a better boat for a bigger guy (given the width and stability) -- wondering how much you weigh (not to get too personal)? ...

Re: Ledge or octane
Thanks for all the info, and particularly Aaron's comprehensive review. Good stuff. Only thing that's missing is a comparative review of the Dropzone, by some who's paddles all the others. Anyone??? Rick I've paddled the Drop Zone too. At least the demo I paddled was as wide and stable as the Octan...

Re: Ledge or octane
You will hear a lot more from Option paddlers than Octane paddlers because there are a lot more Options out there. It is all personal preference so I suggest you try both the Octane 85 and the Option to determine which hull you prefer. The L'Edge is a planning hull and so it the Octane. As an Octane...

Sorry the questions were inartfully posed
Thanks for your reply. A better way of asking these questions: 1. If a person orders a new L'Edge are they guaranteed to be ones molded by Liquidlogic? Or does Equif still have older L'Edges in stock it is sending out? My friend definitely is interested in a LL molded one. 2. Is Esquif having LL mol...

Questions concerning new L'Edges manufactured by Liquidlogic
Several friends of mine have questions about getting these boats. Are all new L'Edge's ordered from Esquif made by Liquidlogic? Are only Lite L'Edges being molded by Liquidlogic or also regular L'Edges? What colors are available? Another friend wants to know if it is possible to buy a L'Edge direct ...
