Re: Warm Feet
I'm assuming that Dave's 0 degrees is celsius (about 32 F), correct? I haven't been able to find an answer to this problem either, and it pretty much stops me from winter paddling. Do you have Raynauds? If so, maybe nothing will work. I've tried all the sock combinations that you mentioned, to no av...

Here's some SUP old school--Mel Noll paddling Dragon's Tooth in the Dryway in 2008 in his self-designed and self-built canoe. Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLleivougZw&NR=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Thinking in advance--next boat for me?
Well, I did a little search on "Stinkeye" and found this post from RodS last August: Aaron, I'm at a loss for words. What a beautiful boat! And a great archive of the process...great pics! JKaz, sign me up for two, short one for Deb, X version for me! So, it looks like Rod already signed us up for t...

Re: Thinking in advance--next boat for me?
Having said that a composite StinkEye is going to be a lot like a SUPER light Option. Not as durable as the Option but if you aren't creeking and are not a rock brasher, then a valid option (sorry for the pun). OK, I'm interested... Any chance of a Royalite Stinkeye? Something that could withstand ...

Thinking in advance--next boat for me?
I know this has been covered a lot, but it's my turn to ask. I'm starting to give some thought to my next boat. I'm currently in a Zoom, which I really like a lot. Prior to the Zoom, I paddled an Ocoee, which I also liked a lot but found it a bit wide for my reach. My first boat was an Outrage, whic...

Re: Pump or no pump?
And what is all this talk about slowing the group down? Are you all racing every time you boat? Well you wouldn't stop and just casually have a chat in an eddy for no reason would you? Time spent not paddling downstream is time you could have on the next river of the day... Isn't that one of the re...

Re: but
Gonzo, thanks, But don't they give some protection when bouncing off rocks? Big Al My Zoom (definitely Wooz) took a beating in Phil's Hole on the Ottawa a couple of years ago, and the plastic deck plate probably saved the boat from a big bow ding, because there's a great big gash in the deck plate....

Get a bowl of popcorn and take some time to watch this... http://www.cboats.net/cforum/viewtopic.php?t=7960286 I loved these! This is a river I can realistically see myself paddling on, succeeding, being challenged and having fun. I'm never going to do class V, and probably only class IV at class I...

It slows it down and reduces the efficany of the pump. then when the pump loses prime you have all that water that is in the hose come back into the boat. LOCATE YOUR OUTLET AS CLOSE TO THE PUMP AS YOU CAN !!! Yeah, I'm one of those who put the outlet in the stern of my boat just because that's whe...

Re: When you get a new boat What do you tell your Wife or
I think it's really nice that you all want to surprise your wives and SOs with a new boat for Christmas! I'd suggest a Zoom or an Ocoee...jroneil wrote:Now what does everyone tell their wife or SO
This should be fun and we probably do not want the wives to see
