I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to "see" the course, and then go through all the effort to set it up, organize, manage, teach, help folks laugh and learn and have a great time. I had an *excellent* weekend at the Riversport slalom and hope to return next year. I do wish there were more ...

Sweet Strutter FS
I'm selling my pearl white Sweet Strutter. It's comfortable and fits very nicely, but I've decided I don't care for such a large brim. Very lightly used, it's in excellent condition. I paid $200 for it; it's yours for $150. Size M/L.

Joel, Thanks for your input. Your descriptions provided clear techniques and will hopefully help correct my weak and pitiful cross strokes. :) I wonder if the curling tendency also has something to do with defensive postures (lacking strong confidence on my "other" side), as opposed to feeling stron...

Slasher!
Paul, Yes, I did find a Slasher with thigh straps. It is outrageously yellow, and if you ever see me upside down in the river *please* come and save my sorry soul. PS-It's great fun and you are welcome to try it anytime. PPS-The Zapper is alive and well. Being of a delicate nature, it has been wistf...

Riversport Slalom
This is wonderful, but, oh, *why* on Labor Day weekend?
We'd love to participate, but that's a tough already obligated weekend only 2 weeks away.
Wish we'd known about it sooner....

Why a Slasher?
Why a Slasher? I like the design and it's plastic; I'm a klutz in a C-1 still. Yeah, it's heavy, but a Slasher tolerates my errors much better than anything glass right now. We have one in the house already, so I'm familiar with the boat, and this way David can paddle circles around me in his and st...

I'm looking for a Slasher in good condition. Anyone have one moldering away in their boat rack? I'm in Maryland/DC area, but willing to travel a bit.
Thanks!

Bob Foote OC Clinic
Bob Foote will be holding one of his legendary clinics in the DC area on May 5, 6 and 7. This is a solo OC-1 clinic, aimed at an intermediate level. This is a 3 day class (F, S and Su), with a class size limited to 6-8 students. It's held here in the Washington, DC area, usually somewhere on the Pot...

I'll confess, I'm looking for advice, and what better place to go? :) I started canoeing in a Viper 12 and currently paddle a Rival. I'm familiar with the Shaman and also have a Detonator. I'm comfortable in class III water and love to run rivers, work the river, and also play around. I want a slalo...

Ace 4.7 C-1 Conversion?
Anyone ever paddled one? Am I out of my mind? I paddle an OC-1 (Rival), and also kayak, but am in the elementary stages for C-1. (I love the Ace as a kayak, but my feet don't.)
TIA,
Colleen
