I simply love mine 8) Living in one of the world's top play boating area (Ottawa - Gatineau ) It's truly a fantastic boat.
But for river running... :roll: It's got one speed, slow. If you accelerate real hard you'll get in 1st gear and as soon as you stop paddling it will immediately come to a stop ...

I've often taken smaller boats on ww trips(for the obvious reasons) using my Esquif Canyon to carry the gear and the small boat of choice. I tie the boat behind me in the Stern, on top of the float bag perpendicular to the Canyon (T shape).
OK it catches in the wind and is not very aesthetic, but ...

Rescue
I'm surprised no one came up with this obvious one.
To rescue someone, in and out of boat in a sec. Throwing a throw bag. Power and leverage from the boat. Kneeling is lot more powerfull then sitting.

I will spend september in Canada, actually it's a road trip, but it will lead to Nova Scotia where the skookumchuck wave has it's home. If it's not the stellar canoeing, it's the skiing! And I will be missing both. A ski pass I've not used yet and will not use at all this year because of a benign brain tumor that hemorrhaged in October
