I simply love mine 8) Living in one of the world's top play boating area (Ottawa - Gatineau ) It's truly a fantastic boat. But for river running... It's got one speed, slow. If you accelerate real hard you'll get in 1st gear and as soon as you stop paddling it will immediately come to a stop....

I've often taken smaller boats on ww trips(for the obvious reasons) using my Esquif Canyon to carry the gear and the small boat of choice. I tie the boat behind me in the Stern, on top of the float bag perpendicular to the Canyon (T shape). OK it catches in the wind and is not very aesthetic, but it...

Rescue

I'm surprised no one came up with this obvious one. To rescue someone, in and out of boat in a sec. Throwing a throw bag. Power and leverage from the boat. Kneeling is lot more powerfull then sitting. A few years ago running the bottom moose, my buddy Vincent Dupont was being trashed at the base of ...

Re: Big waves and paddling in Canada

I will spend september in Canada, actually it's a road trip, but it will lead to Nova Scotia where the skookumchuck wave has it's home. Probably I won't be skilled enough for this one until then, but getting some information will never be for the worse anyway. Anyone knows this it? I've heard it's ...

+ The praries suck for paddling. FYI, the prairies offer world class paddling! May be our lack of knowledge on your great part of our country made me think the same has Gonzo... Do you have any links or recommendations for futur WW trips in your area ? Educate us :) We're thinking Nahanni in a few ...

Hey Insolence ! You forgot to answer the Great Gonzo... where will you be ??? Our Nation's capital Ottawa/Gatineau area has superb(warm) white water at that time of year, and contrary to mexico Louie saying, water is warm here a solid 5 months / year. Tons of OC outfitters also. And we have water he...

Re: Ok stop it already!

If it's not the stellar canoeing, it's the skiing! And I will be missing both. Mexico is definetely on the hit list with all the nice scenery we've been seeing recently, and having met Jim and knowing the class is organization has. Just waiting for my little guy to get a bit older to better enjoy these rivers and creeks. Avatar is cold, that was the end of a 53km(40 miles) fre...
