Kate, I typically use a drytop (which I only even own for when I'm paddling the C-1) along with neoprene pants/paddling pants through early November--specifically the Tohickon release. After that, if it's open boating, dry suits are the way to go, albeit a little bulkier, definitely drier and warmer...

The Stabond I used to glue patches back into my Spark said it has a 12 month shelf life. Maybe that's the problem. No clue about how to fix it though...

I like the Lizard a lot. I don't have the '07 Lizard 350, but I have an '06 that was cut down 10 cm by Vajda, so I think it's essentially the same as the new one. The boat is very easy to paddle, turns really nicely, but goes in a straight line too. Very fast. I can't really compare it to the Makao ...

I have received brochures from Huge Experiences as well. Not quite sure how they got my name, and I'm not sure of their reputation, but their programs sure sounded interesting.

Al, Alden recently posted in the "for sale" part of this sight that Joe Jacobi is selling a kids Vajda Lizard. That's a great C-1, new design, fast, easy turning. I just picked one up this past spring as my first C-1 and I'm loving it. The boat's probably not in Ontario, but it seems like a good dea...

I have a Vajda Lizard in the elite layup. It wasn't by choice, as I bought the boat used, but I've been extremely happy with it. The previous owner, who was a really great paddler, patched it twice on the chines because it broke, but I haven't had any trouble with durability yet (after about 5 month...

I have a pair of the NRS Rodeo Socks, which I use in my C-1, but I find they aren't too comfortable in my OC1 when I use the foot pegs, so in it I typically use the NRS "Paddle Wetshoes" shoes. If for some reason I don't use my foot pegs, I just use the rodeo socks for both boats. It looks like the ...

I posted this same thing near the beginning of the year (Feb.) and ended up with a boat. But there were a bunch of offers on here I didn't take people up on. Here's the link to the post: http://cboats.net/cforum/viewtopic.php?t=5504 Maybe some of those boats are still for sale--I ended up buying Jam...

Hi Natalie, I'm glad you're liking the new boat. The Ignitor is a lot of fun. It'd definitely on my list of future boats :D So I take it you're going to the Esopus this weekend? Are you going to race the new boat? I was hoping to make it up to that race, but I haven't been able to find a ride up. So...

Isaac, regarding your question, apparently there is "L-200" and "M-200" minicell. Apparently they have the same density, but the L200 is softer than the M-200. On the Sweet Composites website it says the L is what is usually used for saddles, kneepads, walls, etc. in composite boats, but the M is sl...

Yes, I have noticed how those little bits of dust stick and cling to EVERYTHING and decided before ever working with the foam that it would be a good idea to wear a dust mask (particulate respirator as opposed to the big organic vapor respirators used when gluing into boats or using epoxy etc.) The ...

I don't know where to get it without the skin, but you can buy it with the skin in those dimensions from Davey and Jennifer Hearn at Sweet Composites. I bought a full bun from them earlier this year for outfitting my C-1. I think the dimensions you are describing are a "half bun" as a full bun is "4...

Maybe consider the Mohawk Shaman, it's fairly high volume, and long. Not sure about it's use or reviews by larger people. It's a really great boat. Not hard to learn in, because it's really stable and forgiving, but it has semi-hard chines that make it carve really nicely. But at the same time, you ...
