river manners
enjoyed the banter on this topic....I think this has become more of an issue as rivers have become more and more crowded and the boating community becomes larger and larger. Lots of us remember when you knew everyone on the river..clearly not the case anymore. I recall paddling at GAF about 10 years...

light layup at anchor points
If you are worried about the stresses the anchors may have because the layup is thin below them, just add in another layer or two of cloth. might want to use carbon or kevlar carbon so you get the most rigidity..

no need to drill holes
There is no need to drill holes in a boat to attach thigh strap anchors. We have been using this method for approx 30+ years. 1. Dry fit your seat and knee pads in the boat (do not glue them) 2. get in 3. grab your strap material (my favorite has always been 2 inch single webbing (not tube webbing)....

C-1 offside roll
The C-1 offside roll is just an outgrowth of the bowmans roll from a C-2. Some folks would have the bowman switch on the way over and then both would be on their on-side. Others would just have the bowman do a offside or bowmans roll. RE: Back deck roll..Kent does a great version...The back deck rol...

Bob: your expereince with your chosen C-2 partner reminds me of a time a couple of years ago during a Richmond Armada that your C-2 partner talked me into boofing the left side of the drop at Hollywood in an open boat. if memory serves me correctly, our fate was the same as yours....I recall him bai...
