Re: Zen and Everest comparison?

I know what you mean about the Everest, from what you're describing I will say the Zen would not get you where you want to go. full on c1 creek boat conversions , by nature, tend to get kicked around a lot. Personally, I would suggest a pyranha 9R . If you're on a budget, Older c1 conversion boats w...

Re: paddle shaft reinforcement question

I sent some material, it should be there by now. The Dynel and S glass is for shaft repair, carbon fiber blade repair.

Re: paddle shaft reinforcement question

12 inches up the shaft should be fine . I would use S-glass . Same weight twice the strength. The highest stress is at your shaft hand that forms a fulcrum.

I've lots of dynel sleeve. Send me you address and I'll send you some.

Re: C1 Conversion

Call Bernie at whitewater warehouse , he can tell you all about the jackson/ c1 kit since he sells and uses them
No , wet exits are easy from this kit.
I would pick my boat size based on paddler weight only, not on k1 or c1 use.

Re: Twister Vs. Edge Thoughts from the Experts

I have built and raced both designs, The designers of these boats weigh between 150 and 165 pounds. A paddler you weight , would sink these narrow designs to the point they won't handle properly. This is very true of the edge . Slalom has not traditionally been a big man sport. The biggest by far I'...

Re: Anyone converted a WaveSport Recon?

My 2 cents Boat is slow . Most yakers here don't like them for that reason. Must be paddled hard to make them work. Stability very good If you are at the upper weight limit for the boat size , The stern gets edgey . Extreme bow rocker makes boofs easy. As with all k1/c1 conv, boats , seating positio...

Re: New Karma Med on its way - Where should my seat back be?

It is critical where you sit. Here's what I do. Find a fast shoot of water so you can do quick / short ferries . Setup way too far forward and try a ferry. The bow Will be overly grabby , and quickly turn and the boat will feel unstable. Now move a 1/2 inch back and ferry again. Now move back anothe...
