Re: New light L'Edge

My understanding is its the same mold with less plastic and a slightly refined molding process. Some of the early L'Edge's (semi prototype) were apparently rather thin and flexy and have been beat hard by their respective owners without breaking. The thought is that by allowing more flex it will re...

Re: Robson Homes PE

Well......... as probably the only person in the US to have owned a Homes and a Prelude at the same time, here is my take. Both are about the same as far as dryness. The Homes is faster and has more initial stability, it feels more like an Ocoee than it does a Prelude. That being said my Homes was m...

Re: Anyone planning to produce a longer OC1 in PE?

Re. Why is the Prelude so much lighter than the L'Edge? I see Craig's explanation above. An OC1 doesn't have to have the volume of the L'Edge to be good. I would be happy with a longer prelude (with a flatter bottom). My Prelude comes in at 50# and my L'Edge at 51# both with wood gunnels, bags, sad...

Re: Big Day of Canoeing

Congrats on baggin the Toxaway Dooley. I can't get enough of videos from it ( which is the only way I or other mortals will ever see it) and now with an OC. Those looooonnngg a$$ crack bedrock slides are amazing. I know I'll be buying the movie.

Helen since you have a L'Edge you know how it is. Sandy has an Option and I'm sure he would be happy to let you try it if it ever rains here again. You know what kind of boats I like, edgey, and while the Option is a fine boat it is no where near as crisp as the L'Edge in that department. Also you k...

I'm thinking the world needs a brown plastic open boat... stop me before I press too hard for it. <--- why are smiley faces yellow anyway? A friend had a Glass Viper 11 in brown ( he called it Root Beer ) man was it fugly. He may even still have it, doesn't paddle any more. When the L'Edge wa...

For me, at this point in my life I have been downsizing everything. I am finally down to below 12 motorcycles. As for canoes though I have owned many the L'Edge fills all my OC1 needs and the Blast is taking care of tandem. A bad left knee means I am out of the C1 game. But I do really want to get i...

Mrs Kanur and I finally replaced our old ME with a Blast last year and it is really a blast to paddle. I'm 175 and the misses is 130. The misses is an expert kayaker but does a pretty good job in an OC I find the boat super stable, forgiving, and responsive. We can put it in the smallest of eddies. ...

It's Gonna Be Epic..........

in Missouri for creekin the next few days. The forcast for the watersheds of a lot of our creeks is for 5 to 10 inches of rain over the next three days

Warm weather and lots of warm rain in the Ozark and St. Francis Mts, that's as good as it gets around here.

i for one like a boat that is edgy and keeps me on my toes ... that is why i paddle the skeeter (besides it was cheap and a great plastic boat back in 04 when i bought it) I to prefer edgy canoes and have spent a lot of years in a skeeter and preludes and their LACK of an edge is exactly why I was ...
