Georgia Boating Clubs

Work has moved me from my currently well watered home of Arkansas to Savannah where there is no whitewater close by. I am planning on making trips up to get on the water from time to time. Are there any organized groups of boaters in Georgia that I could get involved in?

Dont forget about VW, take a look at a Jetta Wagon TDI. A friend of mine has one and is always touting it as the near perfect paddling car. It is like other wagons, low loading height, can take 3 folks on a road trip and can sit 5 total for a shuttle plus more in the back if they want to sit there. ...

I am going off memory here but I would say around 300. The biggest costs came from the battery, switch, pumps and drybox. If you want some more detailed info I can dig around and get some more exact prices of things.

That is impressive!

I have a question about Short Creek Falls. I talked to someone a few weeks ago that said the falls are runnable pretty much year round, is this true?

Here is an overview of the pump I put together for my Zephyr. Zephyr Bilge Pump I.Circuit Diagram The circuit was fairly simple, consisted of a 5 amp hour 24 volt NiMH battery with a waterproof switch, a doube pole double throw relay, 12 volt voltage regulator and the two pumps with fuses wired toge...

Another idea given to me was to use fishnetting on the end if I cannot get lacing to work. Either way I think I will be able to find a solution and get back on the water.

I really appreciate all the ideas. I was thinking that the lacing was too close to the center but I wanted to get some second opinions before I spend more time on doing that. Also do I need to really torque down on the end lacing or will having it just tight do the job. The NRS bags do have grommets...

Airbag Issues....

Here is the problem, I have made a nice cage for the airbag to go in..or atleast I think so. I put the bags in and I blow them up and it looks perfect, it is staying put and fits just right. Well after doing a few rolls/getting water in the boat the bags will try to get out the end. There is not way...

I got my DP8005 in a few days ago and I glued in 6 d-ring patches for the airbags. Usind 6" patches it took about half a tube of glue for each one, 3/4 would have probably been best but I did not have enough so we will see... I have not had the chance to use them besides pulling on them and they see...

Re: question to a question

As I consider the Zephyr as a likely next boat, I noticed that NOC ads for the Zephyr now mention Kevlar Drings as the outfitting option. I wonder if Louie or someone from Esquif could chime in on this. I expect they sand the plastic down to expose more fiber for adhesion but would like to know mor...
