Good place to paddle?

I'll be heading down to Hopkinsville Kentucky, and I was just wondering where are good places for ww canoeing in the area. And also what kind of restrictions are there if any.

Thanks

Pyranha Karnali/Burn L for C1?

I know there are a lot of C1 conversion questions lately, but I guess one more would not make any difference. The LL Remix 79 was brought to my attention by a very good paddler (thanks Martin) and thanks to Marclamenace and his excellent review and pics to confirm that this boat would be a good choi...

To have a reliable role on the river you must have a bomb proof roll in the pool. On the river you have more distractions like turbulent water, rocks, water falls, holes, so it becomes more psychological. You have to block all that out and think about your technique. You know how to roll sooo what i...

Hi Geoff I'll see you at Palmer Fest. I 'll set up camp at Jessups early Friday morning, can't wait to paddle your fly again. Jamie put a bulkhead in for my zephyr and he did a great job what a difference.
msims thank you for the offer, and I am most definitely will try your c1's.

Where does one go from here?

I have been paddling my Zephyr for about two years now, I have a 99.9% role in the pool. Zephyr is a very nice, fast, and in my opinion very forgiving first boat to learn. But where does one go from here? My question is what is the next logical step to accelerate my learning? Do I stay with OC1 or s...

Hi sbroam

I was just looking at your pictures and noticed that the bulkhead and saddle are right against each other. Doesn't it traps the water to one side or the other when you roll?

Thank you for your replies they are a great help. Is there a general rule of how thick the bulkhead has to be ? How do you position the bulkhead so that it will give me the best support without the danger of entrapment? Is there a rule for that? When gluing the bulkhead in do I glue at the sides as ...

Zephyr outfitting

I've been paddling my Zephyr for over a year now and the more I paddle the more I realize that I have to re-outfit my canoe. My knee pads keeps coming up and I just can't seem to glue over the contour of the hard chime to get the most stability. To solve this problem I thought to put a bulkhead in a...

OC roll when tipping to the offside.

Hi dennisstream,

I don't have the answer for you, but I would like to know as well. I get stuck on my off-side, when I try to use the paddle to sweep to the on-side I get disoriented. What do you paddle? I have a Zephyr.

Cheers,

Twin- Tex/ Zephyr

I am a happy owner of a Zephyr, and I can say that this Twin-Tex material (fibreglas fabric with melted polypropylene plastic) is as tough as nail. I paddle the Elora Gorge and until lately it was around 5cms, which is pretty grindy, and I definitely put her to the test and she only received minor s...

I also have a Zephyr and I have an NRS Canoe Flotation in it, both front and back are 3-D Solo Float Lrg 57" L x 38" W x 24" D, which can be had at www.nrsweb.com (not sure if available in EU, however). They're a sharp grey colour and have performed well for me so far. Good luck in your search! Attila

Any OC-1 paddlers around the Elora Gorge (Ontario)

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to these boards and I'm looking for other OC paddlers who paddle the Elora Gorge. I have been going out with the Guelph Kayak Club on Wednesdays and Sundays, but they don't have any other open canoes at this time. Let me know if anyone out there is interested!
Cheers,
Attila
