Re: Minicell Foam Adhesive?

My go-to has been "red can" DAP / Weld wood contact cement, most often from my local ACE hardware.

Tomahawk C2 and Wildwater C1 for sale

I've decided it is time to move on a few boats that are not part of the core CBoats collection ... I think it is a Bala or Bala Mezzana, but could be a No Name. FAR more stable than my old Ace III that's for sure! Wayners old boat as I recall correctly. A few very well done patches ...

Re: gluing vinyl d ring patches to royalex

... repair guy) is to use a grinding stone on a dremmel to scuff your spot. I don't have a dremmel so I use an air grinder. The stone is a 1 inch cone looking thing and I only use the side of the cone. I got mine at Ace for about $5. Use a washable marker, trace where your going to place it ...

Re: Wildwater Boat

I have paddled three different types of single bladed boats in the ocean, including a wildwater ... more expensive - probably less than a Sea Wind but more in that range. I have paddled an Ace II (not III) that I used to have in the ocean some. The downsides are wind (as edg noted) ...

Re: Wildwater Boat

Height, weight and balance will be big issues. In my opinion (as one of the best mediocre c-1's I know :)) all of the modern designs ... particular windmill (with my own modest skill set) I would try to find an old Ace III. This has the same/very similar hull as the Tiptop, but a much lower bow ...

Re: Vinyl Adhesive

If you have an Ace Hardware near you, then they should have this. It IS Vynabond. I've used it several times. http://www.acehardware.com/product/inde ... Id=1381659" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: What is the most difficult CBoat you've ever paddled?

I'll go with ACE III as well. I never could stay upright in that boat for very long.

I was just fine in a few other Wildwater boats, but not that one...

I built an extrabat that was over cut for my weight - edges were in the water sitting still... there really in no need for a 13'2" Squirt boat :-)

Re: What is the most difficult CBoat you've ever paddled?

That's what you get for paddling a squirt boat at a weight exceeding the cut;)

Well, except for the Demo Maven. You aren't heavy enough for that one!

I my old ACE III resurfaces try it out... or drop by and try the Oxygen;)

Re: What is the most difficult CBoat you've ever paddled?

Running a single Class II rapid in the Maven. Got off water feeling like I had a 6 hr work out. :o I think the O2 would be just as hard. As for the ACE - never been in it so I take your word on that one Adam.

What is the most difficult CBoat you've ever paddled?

I admit... my used Ace III was by far the most difficult for me... even the Oxygen (and Maven) are easier.

That said, some of the problem may have been the flexing hull. I have a Bala (also a WildWater boat) that is far less terrifying.

Re: Tow tether suggestions.

Jim, - I recognise the use of a tether for easy access to a broached paddler. On the other hand, ... snapgates on the river when there are people involved, ever. The 10 seconds time was an ACE drill, and we had the advantage of having our anchor in place already. As long as your ...

Go for it. Should be squirty and wave-wheely. Fun with eddy lines! Might be pearly on waves?

Ace 4.7 as first C boat?

I've been wanting to convert a boat for my first C1 for a while now. I have an old Ace 4.7 sitting in the garage collecting dust, and I've been toying with the idea of making it my first project. ...
