Re: 20/20 reviews for 230# please
Great reply, thank you. I think that’s it really, I don’t want to feel to claustrophobic or hemmed in. I was looking at Kaz’ list and it was the Defiant and the 20/20 that interested me. I know some people my size have the Outrage or Rival but it is mixed reviews and I want something that sits ...

... boat for that trip. After seeing what the lighter one could take, I know they both can take a licking and keep on ticking. Having owned a Defiant from Millbrook, any of Kaz's boats would be equally durable. I have tried most of his designs at some point and like his shorter boats also ...

... asymetrical-rockered, C-1 and OC1 hull shapes...there would be lots of Max II DNA in them. The designers of the Frachella Viper, Twister, and Defiant will flat-out tell you they snagged cross sections from either the Cuda or the Bat. As far as the other hard-chined boats, the link might not ...

Re: Millbrook Big Boy as OC1?
Klaus,
If your friend is comfortable in the Defiant, the Big Boy would be even more comfortable with a lot more volume and boat width.

Re: Millbrook Big Boy as OC1?
Hallo Kaz
we had to drive a realy long distance to test and there is no realy white water. How similar is the Big boy to the Defiant ? I think we can test one on a local slalom course nearby. If Thomas would be comfortabel in the Defiant, would the Big Boy be ok for him ?

... great to meet you at Week of Rivers. Sorry we didn't get to paddle together. Until I got to the paragraph about your rack issues, I was seeing a Defiant in your future. I've owned a Defiant and Outrage...I loved the Defiant but wanted a shorter boat so replaced it with the Outrage. I like the ...

Re: Thoughts on Esquif Blast??
Alright, I'll throw in my 2 cents. You need a 20/20 from Millbrook Boats.
10'4" long, but it's fast and dry. Check the facebook page for pics.
We also make the Outrage in composite, and of course the Defiant for maximum slalom-like speed.

Re: Thoughts on Esquif Blast??
Nobody has mentioned a Millbrook Defiant (AKA Fat Boy). Or a Millbrook Outrage (not X) for that matter. (I've paddled and loved them both...)

... feedback on the boats. I'm planning to hit nationals this year, I sent an email to the league of northwest boaters, and maybe someone will have a Defiant around that I can paddle around a bit to see if it works for me. In the meantime, I've got lots to keep me busy! Thank you again! Rob

Re: Twister Vs. Edge Thoughts from the Experts
Hey Rob, Did you try contacting Jenny Goldberg from the League of the Northwest? She may remember who bought my Defiant at the Cedar race more than a few years ago. Another person that was there and talked to the guy was Marc Leonard. I can attempt to contact him to see if he has ...

... is a faster OC1 than the Prowler. I know what you mean about a lack of hulls for heavy people. Even the so-called heavy-paddlers boats, like the Defiant, have their roots in wetted surfaces which were not designed for the 200+ paddlers (the CudaMax was designed to facilitate the designers (Hearn, ...

The Defiant was intended as a big-guy version of the Twister. FWIW, word from guys who were part of the groups designing the boats. Mark Clarke says the ...

Re: Looking for OC-1 in CA
I've never paddled the Defiant, but it just looks like a good boat...not like a cutting-edge race boat, mind you, but I'm not John Kaz, either, so it won't matter a whole lot. To me it always looked a bit like an Encore with sharper ...
