Fiberglass Crack Repair, Unemployed Boaters Union Local 282

Hey everyone, I cracked the stern of my Descender this past weekend. Just wondering if anyone had any Pro Tips they wanted to pass on as I repair it. I've got resin, fiberglass mat, and lightweight roving to do the job. About an 8" crack far ...

In praise of the Blackfly Condor

... the Condor; up-canyon winds on slack days? Despite the bow being turned up, it holds the line much better than Outrage, Viper 12 or Whitesell Descender. And surfing-- well it is a Jeremy boat, right? YUP! And holding the line but also carving through boulder gardens; knee down turn, stroke, ...

Re: Under rated boats...

A picture of a Descender would be nice.

As for the Amoeba, I don't think very many were made. I only know of two, one in Glen Falls and the other in Concord NH. You could contact Millbrook boats and see if Kaz knows of any others, and he would know.

Re: Under rated boats...

I just took my new-to-me Descender out for a spin on the Mongaup yesterday and it was fast and fun and everyone thought I was some kind of time traveller. It was my first time in a C1, ever, and I am finding it hard to walk normally the ...

Re: C1 & C2 Boating

... again or I'm going to go crazy. I was running everything in a Viper 11 but left that behind. I've got an Esquif l'Edge Lite and a 1988 New Wave Descender that I haven't gotten wet yet. Getting the last few things buttoned up with gear and outfitting. I'll have stories to tell soon, but I need ...

... figure if I don't want the top, I can just cut it off and I have a cheap sprayskirt. Hope to see you on the river soon. I'll be the guy in a blue Descender, listening to Scritti Politti, scrambling eggs on my Silver Creek. xo

Harmony Terrapin C-1 sprayskirt for sale or swap (SOLD)

I have a sweet, almost perfect Terrapin sprayskirt and it seems just a little too big for my New Wave Descender. The rand is in incredible shape. I think it probably fits a bigger cockpit like the slightly more recent plastic C-1s like the Atom. Medium tube. I'll let it go ...

... running boats that play well. But you are all mostly familiar with them. So what other gems are out there? The Hornet is a decent boat. As is the Descender. Folks are picking up on the Storm Chaser these days. But the boat the sticks out in my mind as a "great" boat that no one ever mentions is ...

I have a Whitesell Decender I am working on. Its a great old boat. I am

original equipment if possible Would by any chance someone have one or
two? Jim

Whitesell canoes and "new" hulls liquidation

Nolan here, for fotos I plan to get them on Facebook in the next couple days. I sold most boats a couple years ago but had held a few descender and whirlwind hulls for my future personal use - hopeful my prosthetic knees would cooperate - but no go - so will be selling unused hulls and store ...

Re: Boat for Grand Canyon

Friendly as in not rock garden swims.

I think your Whitesell Descender w/pump would be an ideal solo canoe for the Grand Canyon. There were a couple of times I thought a pump would have been handy.

Re: Boat for Grand Canyon

It's too late now but I'm selling my Whitesell Descender w/pump I took down the Grand 2 years ago. It worked great, no swims but several portages lower. I only did the top half and I believe the rounded chine is the way to go. Denver would have ...
