I have a Bell version with a pedestal and double thigh straps which is very light even compared to old Dagger ocoee, and much lighter than encore and mohawk viper 12 I am most accustomed to paddling. a viper 11 might be another good choice. good luck in finding any of them. old 6' mohawk bags are slightly more than enough to bag my encore with mohawk saddle tight, so 5' should come close to filling an outrage which is 16" shorter and narrower. John

This canoe has a pedestal seat with four strap set-up (upper thigh and lower knee). The hull has no soft spots or de-laminations. Teal color. Boat is stored indoors. ... like a cutting-edge race boat, mind you, but I'm not John Kaz, either, so it won't matter a whole lot. To me it always looked a bit like an Encore with sharper edges and a flatter bottom...which is something I'd be into. Thanks for the info, and I'll look into that Defiant.
