Re: Most notable C1 conversion?

First I'll admit I'm not a fan of conversions in general, with the exception of creek boats where there is arguably only two options (plastic Finkenmeister, composite Storm Chaser). So, I'll say that to me the Wavesport ForPlay was "ground breaking" in that it's the first conversion I paddled ...

Re: Fluid solo large comparison

I have not paddled the Finkenmeister since late 2013/early 2014, as it is still in the Esprit boat house in Costa Rica, so my memory is a bit foggy, but I'll try to make a comparison between it and the Karma M anyway. My weight bounces ...

Re: Fluid solo large comparison

... of the L'Edge, but most of them will accelerate betted and be faster. The ones I have paddled, next to proper C1s like an Atom, Cascade and Finkenmeister are the Everest, Burn, Big Gun, Blunt, Stomper and now a Karma. I hated the Stomper 90. It sounded like a great mix gbetween the Remix ...

Re: Boating in Costa Rica

... The bulk of the OC1 fleet are L'Edges, but there are also a few Preludes and Spanish Flies, an Octane 9-2, an Option, and an Ion. There is also a Finkenmeister C1 available. Both Turrielaba and La virgen ae not too far from some great class 3-4 runs. Turrialba is a smaller city, La virgen more ...

Re: C-1 Creek Boats, time for a new one, what to get?

If you have an aggressive style (paddle not float) the Finkenmeister is worthy of consideration.

If you are willing to consider composite check out the River Elf Storm Chaser - I'd imagine a beefy layup might just do the trick.

Re: The end of ESQUIF..... :(

... when Drakkar (a small Polish outfit that made the 'Wheelboy' - a C1 playboat) went out of business. I bought a 'Wheelboy' and the earlier Robson 'Finkenmeister' , in part , to try and encourage new plastic C1 designs. I am going to stick my neck out and try to outline the reasons why whitewater ...

Re: Choosing a boat?

... out there (including the Black Fly Option, so pun intended:) ). You also may want to consider a decked boat - no bailing;) There I would think the Finkenmeister would be a natural fit (plastic creek boat), but that is only from my assumption of the water you are paddling. Welcome, and good luck ...

SOLD - Robson Finkenmeister

In very good condition. Little used by me as it's to fast for an old man's reflexes. Includes skirt and a couple flotation bags. I added a lap belt which could easily be removed if you're not into that sort of thing. $400 or best offer. I'll be at ALF and could deliver it to the lucky new owner ther...

Re: C-1 recommendations?

I have had a Finkenmeister for many years and continue to paddle it. I think the cockpit is on the small side and getting your feet in and out of the boat is tight due in part to the big hip braces.
