... plug, I cut out profiles of the boat and glued them together. For the profiles I used some existing boats for reference. I have access to a Loco, Makao, Lizard, and a Wind C2. To take the lines for these boats, I made a chain girth device by pop riveting together a bunch of little pieces of pegboard. ...

I'm asking $700 and I'm in Birmingham AL. We get up to the Bryson City NC area and
around the Ocoee if that helps.

Re: It's a sickness...

Man, I'm getting too old for this sort of testing. :-? Four runs in each boat, each run on a flatwater circuit taking about 50 seconds. The Makao weighs 22 lbs, the "CSX" 26 lbs. Sequence: 1. Two in the CSX, with a 1 minute rest between runs. 2. Switch into my Galasport Makao. Two runs with ...

... and the Stinger, thus the C and S in the name.) I've already got the bow grab-loop divot. Now is the time to make something for the stern. My Makao has a very simple groove. Not that easy to make though, since in the mold it stands proud of the surface.

... almost never use a power stroke behind the cockpit. Thanks, so this is the reason behind strange looking C1s like Vaňha (Noah)'s Jape, Galasport Makao (and nearly anything from Galasport :D )? And what about those short, pointy "wings" on some C-1s? edit: Definitely early 80's. I found some more ...

It's a good boat with a rounder hull than makao and co, it was based on michal martikan's designs. I am by no means an expert in slalom boats, but as far as I know the Makao was designed by Tony Estanguyet for his paddlig style, with the Yin and finally the 64 being evolutions of it, the 64 being the most recent design. They all have a maximum weight of ...

... radical difference between the hull designs. It's obvious (to me) that the Stinger (white boat) will tend to ride higher in the water than the Makao at speed. The rails keep the water under the hull. The violet line is the Stinger's profile superimposed on the Makao's. http://www.wwslalom.net/paddling/makao/both_profiles.jpg
