Re: Learner Boat--Advice most appreciated
ovation by reputation is slow and you likely will outgrow it quickly as your skills progress. ocoee is a design which has survived for decades in royalex and other materials for good reason. It will test you as a beginner, but as you progress will take you anywhere you ...

... is a doozy. Since my Zephyr is out of commission, my experienced boater friends are giving suggestions on what'd be the next. I think Ovation and Ocoee is quite a bit shorter and lighter than Outrage.

Re: Learner Boat--Advice most appreciated
My prediction: if the Outrage is too big and heavy...the same will be true for the Ocoee and Ovation. Maybe, more so.
How did you like the stability, spin, and speed of the Zephyr? How do want the new boat to differ from the Zephyr?

Learner Boat--Advice most appreciated
... was a recent mishap with the twin-tex repair... Now I have an opportunity to pick another boat. Some of my seasoned paddler friends recommended Ocoee, and some recommended Ovation. They are very different boats based on the info I get. Any input in what makes a good "learner boat" in your opinion? ...

Re: Bell Ocoee OC1 FS
Be happy to look into shipping it if you'd like. I've gotten a couple boats that way. Old Dominion seems to be good with shipping canoes. Should I pursue? I can send pics if you want, but CBoats seems to have a limit on file size. I'd need an email address or phone#. P.S. I'm originally from Boston ...

Bell Ocoee OC1 FS
Needing to clean out the shed. I haven't paddled my lovely, red Bell Ocoee OC1 in a long time and given what's in the rest of my quiver, probably won't. In excellent condition - the usual wear and tear. I think I paddled it for four or five seasons. Comes ...

... I'm on the light/ short side for the 2020. You would love the Shacho I'd have to guess. The other glass option at your size would be MT Canoes FH (Ocoee). Glass is great-- fast, light, easy to repair if you like that kind of thing. Personally, I don't, so I use the glass boats when there's more ...

... to New York several years ago after grad school in Chicago. I had grown up in North Georgia running the Chattooga, LRC, Overflow, the North Chick, Ocoee, and Tellico pretty regularly. I've been off the water for more than a dozen years and now that I'm in the Hudson Valley, It's dawned on me that ...

... to the outfittng. The roll was coming a bit a last time after a few misses, I need to be more aggressive with both my hip snap and finish. In the Ocoee, with it's low sides (which scooped a boat full of water), I found I could get away with a pretty slow, lazy roll. Some people say the Ocoess ...
