Re: Twister Vs. Edge Thoughts from the Experts
... paddler. Another idea to consider, especially considering you are/were on the verge of ordering a boat. See if MT Canoes will make a longer Ocoee. You expressed fondness for the design but think you are too big for it's stock 11'2". Reluctantly, I would acknowledge that opinion. Since they ...

Yup it’s one year old, paddled mostly on the Ocoee and Tellico. Normal light rash, no deep gouges or cracks.

FS: Dagger Ocoee, tandem, bulkhead saddle
... NC can deliver to ALF. Red, w/ sparkly silver lettering (for those it matters to) Chines have seen some repair. Double pumps. Yes this is a TANDEM Ocoee. Great for a very light team, or a kid up front. Slams into eddies like it's on rails. Exhilarating and silly. Reverse footpegs to run the boat ...

Re: Thoughts on Esquif Blast??
We bought a Blast that was outfitted solo and immediately converted it to a tandem. My solo boat is generally an Ocoee. We are fans of the twisty-turnies and occasionally venture out on some bigger water. As a tandem team we are combined at about 325. As a solo boater I push 200. ...

Re: Thoughts on Esquif Blast??
would an ocoee suit someone that weighs in around 230+ and be faster than an octane 91? i assume that you would loose a lot of the benefits of an ocoee with my large arse!!! am i right? d A vast array of body types paddle Ocoees. ...

... am slower around the river than im my composite SS, but i find that the smaller boat is much easier to deal with in tighter situations . would an ocoee suit someone that weighs in around 230+ and be faster than an octane 91? i assume that you would loose a lot of the benefits of an ocoee with ...

Re: Looking for OC-1 in CA
I would acknowledge that both your height and weight are pushing the reasonable limits of the Ocoee. Among the dozen or so Montana OC1ers that paddle an Ocoee, several are 6'3" or more and one guy is probably over 235lbs. Living in the home state of Montana Canoes, we ...

Re: Thoughts on Esquif Blast??
... looking for a long fast slalom-like boat, you've made two good choices: Encore and Outrage X. I suggest, the next two boats to try would be the Ocoee and Howler. Both of those boats are actually raced, and feel sporty to me at 230#. My observations of the Bast suggest it will be a crazy-dry ...

Looking for OC-1 in CA
... following are boats I am not interested in unless they are practically free, and I'm just listing them to avoid wasting anyone's valuable time. Ocoee (Amazing boat, but at 6'5 and 235 I'm just too heavy for it. It makes me almost cry when I paddle it because its almost awesome but never will ...

Re: Option vs. maxim
Thanks Alan for your feedback on the MO. The Royalex Ocoee was my favorite Royalex boat in 50 years of paddling. Now that my height has shrunk even more from age I need short boats so I can carry them, hence the interest in the MO. I think I will stick ...

Re: Option vs. maxim
... Just to be clear, I don't have a MO but have jumped in one numerous times over the last two seasons. Also, some background: I owned 2 plastic Ocoees since around 2000 then transitioned to my 2 FHs in the last 5 years. I am 6'3" and around 190-195. Though I am one of the oldest OC1ers in the ...
