Re: Outrage vs OutrageX?

IMO 250 lbs is to big for a 12' Outrage. I go 200 and feel a little big for mine.
IMO the 13' X feels just like my 12' Outrage but carries my weight better.
IMO the Rampage is a refrigerator box. The Outrage X is a longer Outrage.
YMMV

Re: Outrage vs OutrageX?

... nimble, fun. The X felt like a barge to me, but is still a capable boat but doesn't feel like a bigger Outrage, felt more like the old Rampage to me personally. If you'd fit a Mohawk 12 (old 12II) you should fit the outrage, albeit a bit narrower. You'd have no trouble unloading it ...

Re: any of you have a whitesell whirlwind?

... version of the Descender. Even though the Sequel was made by Blue Hole, it's design and paddling characteristics reminded me more of the Mad River Rampage and Fantasy boats. But it could be my memory is fading, especially if I'm wrong about the Whirlwind designer being Dave Sherrill. and we all ...

Rolling boats with extreme rocker???

... laborious the roll seems to be. Rocker in the lower hull seems to be less critical here. Is this common knowledge? I normally paddle a Mad River rampage. - rolls fine, coming almost completely upright with hip snap alone have also paddled Black Fly Option - also great, almost scary fast Savage ...

Outfitting... I need a beer.

Replacing the Perception saddle that was in my, as referred to on cboats "refrigerator," It's a Mad River Rampage. I am convinced it will take me down the Grand one day. I have fixed the dings and put on plates. The cold cracks are stop drilled and on my things to fix this winter ...

Re: tandeming a solo

We've got a Mad River Rampage outfitted tandem. It was originally designed solo, but works great as a tandem for us. We're a pretty light team though (probably 250lbs).

If it's in good condition, then it could definitely be worth trying at that price...
